End of Cthulhu . . . . ?

Who knows the end? What has risen may sink, and what has sunk may rise.
–H.P. Lovecraft, The Call of Cthulhu
So FFG have dropped a bombshell about Call of Cthulhu, FFG have finished creating cards and supporting organised play events. So what does this mean for the game? Of course the game will carry on, it just means we'll get no new cards. Which on one hand could make for a stale game but with over 1500 cards to choose from and being able to mix all the cards this won't be for a long time. It also means that with a finite amount of products, your not chasing to catch up with cards (at least until you have them all) which in turn means more money available to invest into a new card/board game.
My only reservation is the FFG FAQ for the game. Will it still be kept uptp date? will the restricted cards be added too or some taken off? I'd like to think that the FAQ will be kept upto date as it wouldn't take a lot to do.
OP events, having not been to any I don't know what I'm missing. Bu there is nothing stopping people running there own events.
Final thoughts, If anything I think this move may bring the CoC community together more (not that we are fractured) but we love this game and in order for it not to disappear into antiquity working together organising our own OP events and promoting it to the wider community.
My blog will still carry on, it doe's mean I get to branch out now into other LCG's probably Doomtown or the Star Wars LCG next as i've had a couple of intro games.
Where I hangout CoC Facebook group a cracking group of players :-)
