We had top ten lists for each faction before in separate threads, but I thought it would be fun to revisit this as a community by letting everyone create the lists together.

So this is how it will work. In each of your posts, you can:
1. Nominate a card for each faction (it can be 1 or more or all)
2. Second a card that someone else nominated for each faction
3. Repeat, but only nominate and/or second ONCE each day.
4. If you wish, you can nominate to remove a card from the top ten, which requires a second and third.

*Neutrals are considered a "faction" for purposes of a top ten list. Also, let's limit them to true neutral, and not "splashable" faction cards that can enter play using a neutral resource (e.g. Master of the Myths, Black Dog, Dreamlands Fanatic).

Feel free to discuss each nomination, especially if you disagree. That's kind of the whole point. :)

EDIT: Please try to separate out seconds and nominations. Also, rankings should be considered in a vacuum, i.e. the card itself, as much as possible, although you can certainly make an argument for any particular card.

I will update the OP of this thread as we go!

Now remember I fully admit to still being a noob at this, but I have been nearly exclusively playing mono syndicate in any moderately competitive games I've had, before the box set was out. Immurement gives Syndicate so much that they needed.

It's their only non gimmick no BS support removal card. This alone is huge. It's event speed, its technically cheap (Syndicate often runs at 2/2/2 or stabilizies there so the most expensive domain drain condition isn't always an issue) and when it comes to relics (cough Khopesh) it is better than most other destruction cards because no one is ever happy when they resource their relic. Removes any non-ancient one problem, and again remember, if it's a combo/recursion/reshuffle card, them resourcing it ruins their plans.

Now yes, the downside is major, but it's only a big deal early game. Giving someone early ramp can be a major issue esp if they run any big nasties. However, Syndicate has a special affinity for dealing with big nasties. If the Council, Mr Pan, or the 7th House on the Left isn't solving any ramped out baddies, then you might have a problem. You also may be 1 more turn away from a win heh.
Also, if you're using Naomi, you've got 6 hard removal cards at your disposal.

I shall defend this cards spot in top 10 forever.
On a side interesting note, when it comes to powerful Syndicate cards, they haven't had a banned or restricted card in the last 2 FAQ's, and I'm not sure if they ever had. That alone narrows the field greatly heh

my main problem is almost 80 percent of the times i'd rather play a character or my own support that my opponenent needs to deal with then use my highest resource to get rid of one of their threats doesn''t push me to win as much..

In a vacuum where I'm judging the card's potential not taking into consideration that current restricted list or current metagame. Though, I will ignore cards on the banned list... cause those are useful to no-one.... behold my ill-gotten opinions!

Agency: James Logan
With an arsenal of attachments at his disposal.... not only could he take control of the game, but is a huge risk for NPE's

Miskatonic: Alternative Historian.
Everything that is miskatonic is Alternative Historian. Never a bad play, never a bad option.

Syndicate: Hack Journalist
I steal yo story! Hack was and remains a stupid good reason to play vertical Syndicate.

Silver Twilight: Master of the Myths
Arguably the best blocker in the game....still. Having reach beyond ST really helps it.

Cthulhu: Dreamlands Fanatic
Free is good. There's a reason why he's is nearly any deck that has a way to murder things. Which is a lot of decks...

Hastur: The Seventy Steps
Get steppin' son! It cheats... simple as that. Still think it deserves more than anything Magah Birds got.

Shub: Shocking Transformation
The scope of what this card can do is only surpassed by one card.

Yog: Twilight Gate
My vote for best/most useful card ever printed. While it needs to be on the restricted list... I weep for my inability to put it into anything hinting at being a purple deck.

Neutral: The Cats of Ulthar
It can support your team on both sides of the field. Can be a surprise and remains as one of the few ways to cheat and gain entry to an unopposed story regardless of most defenses your opponent could possibly ever employ. Cats be nasty.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what were supposed to be doing here. I understand that we are ranking cards but other than that I'm confused lol! Here is my top 5 list for each faction:

Agency:

1. san marco basilica-this card actually makes agency a threat as it gives them what they didn't have, readying power
2. shotgun blast-solid removal
3. a small price to pay-solid removal, most of the time I like having it more than shotgun blast
4. the company-he's a monster and he makes government themed decks a pain to deal with when he's out
5. shadow team-I can tell you guys don't play with agency very often because if ya'll did he would be on your lists, he makes going to stories a pain in the ass for your opponent

Hastur:

1. stygian eye-cheap removal that lets you use your opponents best characters against them
2. infernal obsession-see above, not as cheap but you permanently get their character even if they don't have willpower or a terror icon
3. cavern of flame-it repeatedly removes your opponents best character from the story you want to go to or from a story you don't want them to go to
4. the seventy steps-this is more of a niche card but it can blow out your opponent if used properly
5. performace artist-she can cancel a crucial game winning play from your opponent, she single handily cost me a game at gencon last year
