Waking the Dragon vs Tears of Lys

Both of these cards create delayed effects which resolve at the same time. When delayed effects resolve at the same time, the first player will choose the order.

If the first player chooses to resolve Tears of Lys first, and Drogo is not saved, he will not return to the hand because he is no longer in play (which is required for Waking the Dragon's delayed effect)

If the first player chooses to resolve Waking the Dragon first, the poison token is gone because the character left play. So, Tears of Lys won't take effect.

Edit - Change Dany to Drogo and add note about saves. Go to the full post »

Hi all,

this happened to me yesterday and I didn't know how it's solve.

Player 1 used Waking the Dragon to stand Khal Drogo and Player 2 used Tears of Lys on Khal Drogo after winning a intrigue conflict. How to resolve this at the end of the turn?
Khal Drogo (without dups or saves) is killed or go back to hand?

Edit: Changed Daenerys for Khal Drogo since Daenerys have Intrigue Icon and can't be target for Tears of Lys. =)

Dany could be the target if she lost the icon through an effect like Maester Caleotte (note that Tears of Lys doesn't say printed icon)
