and yep.....totally pissed about what happened in Dorne... like wth!!! Even if this sort of thing ends up happening in the book it had horrible build up and made it look like Doran never had a plan. So mad.....Honestly could have just left them out of the show because I don't see how they have a point of the story going forward. Who is ruler now??? Oberyn's bastard lover!?? because that makes sense. SOOOO upset changed too really cool characters in Doran and Arianne and for no real payout as I see I really hope this all has a point.....

rest of the episode was really cool.

I was pissed with how they made the Sand Snakes so cartoon villainy last season and how bad they messed up the Dorne storyline. But all I can say after tonight's episode is "Seriously?" Hotah just gets stabbed in the back and never axed anybody? WTF man? It's almost like they realized how bad they screwed it p and just wanted to get away from that story line as fast as possible.

Yeah I feel like with the Dorne storyline they decided that they didn't have time to do the whole Arianne storyline as it involves Aegon who they also didn't have time for so they were kind of in this **** situation where they couldn't show us why Doran is cool so they just axed him quickly to avoid undue buildup. That said I wish Hotah had done some axing first...shouldn't jumped in and removed Tyene from that challenge and then blocked Ellaria's military.

Mel is old confirmed, that's nice, at least they confirmed one fan theory.

Davos remains one of the coolest characters, can't wait for Night's Watch affiliated Davos card.

Tyrion/Varys and Jorah/Daario are some strong buddy cop dynamics, don't let Tyrion eat anyones babies.

People should stop underestimating Dany's ability to speak the language they're insulting her in.

The Lannister plot line seems very divergent from the books. Towards the end of Feast for Crows/Dance with Dragons Jaime really seems to not give a **** about Cersei anymore which is pretty different from the way their going in the show, I haven't decided whether or not I like that yet honestly. "Robert Strong" has eyes that will fuel my nightmares.

One thing I am curious about do we think Dany's story will be as peaceful in the book? the whole can't sleep with widow seemed like a tv convenience so don't need to add another rape scene I could see that situation being far worse in the books. Hope not though I am a fan of danny just wish her story wasn't so boring in the last 2 books.

Jamie is my favorite character in the books so I am also not a fan of how they changed his story so much. Still upset him and tyrion leaving on good terms (yet Jaime says to Bronn will kill Tyrion if sees him because killed his father why couldn't they have had the bad fallout before he left). I do think their is time for Jamie to end up hating Cersie but not sure how he will get there the whole sleeping around thing wasn't as big deal in the show perhaps the Great Septon tells Jamie about Lancel and that starts it. However, with no lady stoneheart (i am not completely sure we won't see her ever though) where his story is at the end of the books may not happen in the show.

I think it's mentioned that the Dosh Khaleen are well respected in the books as well so I wouldn't be surprised if they give Dany a similar treatment there.

I hope that is the case. I don't remember them talking to much about them.

Yeah they're mentioned offhandedly a few times in book 1 and are said to be highly respected. http://awoiaf.wester...hp/Dosh_khaleen

The (obvious) bad: the Martell are done for.

The good: Sansa just made another step in reclaiming the North. Go Sansa!

I would argue that the story in Dorne, even in the books, has never been about Doran. It's always been about, and been heading toward, the Sand Snakes and their quest for vengeance. This season apparently just aims at cutting out all the unnecessary chaff from that storyline. I don't think it's that big of a deal to be honest.

Dorne was always a secondary story arc anyway. I'm not sure why people are this upset?

Dorne was always a secondary story arc anyway. I'm not sure why people are this upset?

Probably because everything about the history and lore of Dorne, as well as the context in the books, is about biding their time, waiting for the perfect time to strike. The Long Plan, as it were. You may appear to be losing, but you are only lulling your opponent into a false sense of security before you take them down.

That was their theme in the books, that was their theme in 1.0 and that is their theme in 2.0.

But now, the show is throwing that all out the window and making Martell an impetuous, impulsive, impatient group of women who are just going to kill a bunch of people before they're eventually silenced by the mob. It doesn't fit the Martells thematically or historically.

Their words are unbowed, unbent, unbroken. Not "You killed my daddy! I'ma kill you now!"
