What: Star Wars LCG May the 4th be with You Online Tournament
When: 8 May 2016 - (approx) 19 Jun 2016 [Mother's Day to Father's Day!]
How Much: $6 to be mailed or Paypal'd
Details: Registration opens immediately, and closes 7 May @ 1800 EST. I will post match ups on/around 8 May, at which point you can begin to coordinate play.
Rounds will last 1 week. I am estimating around 16 players, so we will play 4 rounds followed by a cut to top 4. Top 4 will be 2 rounds of swiss, single elimination. If there are more than 24, I will put the number of rounds to a quick vote (even though the tournament rules say otherwise).
It is up to each pair to coordinate their own game; to include the medium through which they play. OCTGN, LackeyCCG and Skype are all options. I do not want to have a default method of play, but if there is one game that doesn't go because players cannot agree, I will set one.
Each week you will play both LS and DS, and you may switch decks between rounds. Any cards you have (through the 5th Force Pack of the Endor Cycle) are legal to play. If Galactic Ambitions is released in the US during the tournament, it will become legal for the tournament.
I will determine who chooses, based on standard FFG guidance. I will provide a location where the results and contacts can be found. The round begins as soon as the pairs are posted, and you will have until Sunday evening at midnight meridian time of the following week to play. I will have a post for each week, which will outline the timetable.
I will try to host a feature match the final swiss round and during the cuts. This will depend greatly on folks schedules.
For rules questions, attempt to resolve yourselves. If you cannot resolve the issue, save the gamestate and ask the question. You can run through whatever question channel you would like, but I can offer my assistance to answer rules questions.
Please PM me to register for the tournament. I will respond with some information questions so I can track games, contact you, and send your prize support after the tournament is complete.
Currently I have an +enhanced+ tournament kit; basically the spring kit with enough playsets of TIE Attack Sqdn to go around. The dial and the Wedge full bleeds are also there. I will scale up based on the number of players, and may add some additional prizes from my personal collection (tokens, cards, etc) if we have enough players.
Most important during this tournament is the conduct of players. Online Tournament play is slightly more congested than playing in real life. The games will take more time. If you do not have a way to talk through what is going on, there will likely be missed triggers and actions taken and then taken back. My suggestion is to slow the pace of play down while online. Find a rhythm that allows you to play your game but also offers the opponent opportunity to play their cards appropriately.
Any confirmed gross disrespect for others will equal getting booted from the tournament. In my opinion, there is no place for cheating or extremely rude behavior in gaming, especially online gaming.
Please let me know if you have any questions, good luck, and I hope that you enjoy this opportunity to have some organized play!
