Well it's not off the table for FFG, that's for sure.

we should have gotten Rogue One this cycle =/ I think timing + Destiny development kind of screwwed us. But here is hoping for a rogue One re-release Core.

*Starts to get excited about the LCG again*

*Sees Destiny got an announcement for Rogue One cards less than a month from the movie's release*

*Still waiting for cards from 2015's Star Wars movie in the LCG*

*Gives up*

Exactly. This is pretty much proof FFG doesn't give a damn about this game. Even IF we get a Rogue One announcement today, the damage is already done.

It's pretty hard to stay excited for the LCG when every social media platform I visit this morning is all "ZOMG WE GETTIN A CHIRRUT CARD! AND JYN!! AND WE ALREADY HAVE FORCE AWAKENS STUFF! BEST GAME EV0RR!!1"

And the LCG is sitting here like "........ uh... you want like a 6th version of Luke, or?..."

Oh I completely agree, and I would be right there with you if I actually liked Destiny (which I don't). Had they announced the Rogue One set for the LCG first, then it would be a different story. If we are even getting a Rogue One set at all, after seeing this there is no excuse not to get it. The next cycle should start in March or April which is 2nd quarter there is NO excuse not to have announced it first.

I love destiny but FFG is really being horrible to the LCG... LCG is such a good game =/ It deserves better.

I think that's what frustrates me the most. I'm not saying that Destiny shouldn't exist it's fine, but it's just horrible marketing for FFG, they know the LCG needs help on numbers and what not. Destiny doesn't right now. It would've been better for them in the long run IF there is something Rogue One in the pipeline for the LCG to announce it today then maybe Friday announce the Destiny set. This just leads me to believe they don't have a Rogue One set planned.

so I can't comment on what is or isn't in the pipeline but... I will say that I agree with you in spirit.

Destiny didn't need this anouncement now... we have plenty (except stock...lol sold out everywhere)

LCG however.... is in DIRE NEED of a NEW CORE...and a Rogue One Core would be PERFECTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. New core that shows people how amazing the game is... to get people interested.

Typically weird ffg announcement timing. You should probably try to fix stock issues with your first set before trying to hype the next...

We are on the same page, however IF that core is in the pipeline, this announcement just stole any thunder the impact of that announcement would've had on non LCG players.

You go to FFG's web page and you are greater with a image of Jyn Erso from a memorable scene from the film and you're like "hey I just saw that" and click on it immediately you're invested in it. Now fast forward to Friday (or any day it's announced), you go to FFG'S site and are greeted with another photo of Jyn and you automatically assume it's from the other announcement, but in fact it's the new LCG core. You don't even click it, the announcement is already baried. It's just horrible marketing if they do have the Rogue One core or cycle in the pipeline.

Very cool announcement for Destiny. Still hopeful for LCG. One way to look at is I am glad I am not investing in Destiny. I love having a full card set and would not want to keep up with the expanding card pool at this rate. It's crazy timing as people are having a hard time building their card pool already with the limited stock.

Oh yeah? But does Destiny have Rebels stuff?

I fully expect we'll see Rogue One stuff in the next unannounced cycle.

Episode VII? Probably nothing outside of nods, since the LCG is firmly planted in the Rebellion era.

Yes. Chopper and the entire Ghost Crew are on cards in the core set.

It's probably only a matter of time before Destiny gets some Rebels stuff (if they don't already).

I still have hope for a Rogue One cycle. As much as a Rogue One expansion would be awesome, Navy doesn't really need anything else and Rebels just got a highlight with GA. It makes more sense to space it out over a cycle.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that a revised Core is the way to go.

"All In" isnt a card that I can have out like I would with the characters in Destiny, so its a bit different

Even looking at Rebels like that the LCG is horribly behind. Literally all of the Rebels mains are already in games like X-Wing. X-Wing moved on to Rebels background characters, like I saw Azmorigan and Vizago were in the last announced X-Wing preview, and X-Wing even got some of the really great book characters already like Ciena Ree.

Meanwhile we are still missing 3 of the main Rebels crew members almost 2 and a half years after the series started.

The Star Wars IP moves WAY FASTER than this nowadays. You can't take 3 years to cover a thing because 10 new things will pop up in that timeframe including 3 live-action films, 3+ seasons of the cartoon, and who knows how many books and comics, etc. People will have moved on to the next Star Wars thing(s).

The LCG will continue to be horribly behind (and thus out of touch with what is trending in Star Wars fandom spheres) with their current "plan". If a plan even exists.

It feels like they are happy continuing it because it makes money - and tends to be played at home. So the competitive community suffers but the game is healthy.

and it doesnt look like they really care to do anything about that =/
