Moruth Doole vs Payback

Best Answer dbmeboy , 23 August 2021 - 08:13 PM

Doole happens first. The objective was destroyed during the "apply unopposed damage" step of the engagement, which happens before the engagement ends. Payback needs the engagement to have just ended (a unit cannot have survived the engagement until after the engagement is over). Go to the full post »

Moruth Doole

Reaction: After an objective is destroyed, move 1 focus token from a unit you control to a target enemy unit.

Payback

Reaction: After 1 or more of your units survive an unopposed engagement as attackers, deal X damage to a target enemy unit.  X is the number of different affiliations among cards you control.

Question:

If it is LS turn and they attack in such a way that the unopposed damage destroys the objective can they react with Payback first and kill Moruth Doole before he can react?  Doole triggers off the objective being destroyed, but Payback triggers off attacking units surviving an unopposed attack.
