I'm still learning the game and how to build fun but playable decks, so I'd appreciate any comments for improvements or tweaks. I started off wanting to build a Serpent-centric deck, then added Miskatonic as the second faction for the focus on investigation and drawing cards.

My card pool at the moment is Core 2x, Secrets of Arkham, The Yuggoth Contract and Rituals of the Order cycles, At the Mountains of Madness, Dunwich Denizens, Kingsport Dreams, Spawn of Madness, Curse of the Jade Emperor and the Dreamlands cycle's "commons," thanks to the Elder Things podcast.

Additionally, a number of Miskatonic cards are in a "Monotonic" deck at the moment, so I didn't necessarily make the most obvious choices when sifting through what I had available.

Sorry I didn't read thaty bit.. lol "eye jumps to deck list" syndrome :)

um.. I'll have a close look at this latter... but as you have a decent number of packs.. I would say.. buy a at least 1 more... Revelations - Written and Bound

To get hold of this bad boy!!
Uroborus (WaB)

His effect counts himself as well btw.. so this is sorta like a weak version of Dark Young and The All Mother. Still it is a pretty strong endless snakes deck engine card. Also combos with discard and "make sane" effects like
Dr. Carson's Treatment (Core) for example.

Anyway.. I'll have a closer look soon!

Wow. Uroborus' pack is going right on my next-to-buy list. He can take Yig's place in the deck.

My card pool expanded this week, as I picked up the Summons of the Deep cycle along with The Key and the Gate, plus Written and Bound, because, hey, Uroborus. :)

Notable changes include dropping to 50 cards total, more characters overall and fewer supports, removing .45 Pistols and Terrors in the Dark, and reducing Getaway Vehicle and Magnifying Glass to one each.

You have x4 of Visiting Author, but max is x3. This would put you at 49 cards, so you need one more. Another Degenerate Serpent Cultist?

I like the addition of The Hall School so you can add terror to your serpents. Maybe consider adding more since you need to sac it for its ability?

Good catch on the Visiting Authors. I must have over-clicked adding it. I've only got two copies anyway, so that frees up two cards. I'll add in two more Hall Schools and see how that goes. The two-for-one benefit of giving Miskatonic characters some protection against the terror struggle might be handy.

I revised this twice in the last three months, most recently with the arrival of Terror in Venice. My first plays were mixed. There were plenty of characters to play, but the serpents had a surfeit of terror icons and not many good uses for them. One iteration used The R'lyeh Conspiracy with Bruno Carioli and Dr. Bartlett before I realized I don't actually own that conspiracy yet.

Continuing to monkey with this idea, I revised again today. Mainly, I realized Miskatonic cards outnumbered Cthulhu, and the vast majority of support and events were Cthulhu's. So I evened things out, and acknowledged that sacrificing weenies via Disguised Threat is never going to be super-productive, but more of a nice thing when it happens.
