Stannis Baratheon

I wouldn't dare to say that. His passive ability is more an advantage than a disadvantage.
Plus, the chance to get 3 keywords is simply great.

Bran Stark

You're correct Jack. Same thing would happen with Feast or Famine (KotStorm). If you are able to play this card first and decide to add +6 gold to your marshalling phase and then changed it to something else with Bran, you will still get your +6 gold at marshalling but you will also not be able to initiate attacks regardless of your new plot. It's like a contract, once it is set it doesn't matter if the card is still revealed or not.

If I use his ability before revealing plots, and I get out something with a "when revealed" effect that lasts one round, for example Mutual Enemies (Core). When I reveal the new plot just after this does that effect still count?

Narrow Escape

I think the wording isn't as bad as some other cards. It says any oppenent may discard their hand to cancel this effect. It also indicates that their hand must consist of at least 1 card. Such that an opponent with no cards cannot say "I discard my hand and cancel the effect."
Also, it is only played after characters are killed or discarded. It can be played during any Player Action window, but will only affect characters killed/discarded that phase. So in the plot phase, after a valar, it must be played before moving to marshalling.
During challenges, say your opponent went first and killed several of your characters. You could play this at any Player Action window to try to get your characters back before/during your turn. In this scenario it's unlikely that your oppenent would have any characters killed that phase up to the point of triggering this event.
Also, if dupes were killed/discarded within the same phase this is played then I think you would be able to put all of them into play. (However, Reager's example wouldn't work since a character was already in the dead pile from the round before, they wouldn't be able to have that character in play later)

I still don't understand this card. Your opponent (assuming he used a reset or something) just needs to discard one card from his hand to cancel? In what situation would they not cancel this? (Unless their hand is empty of course.) And during Plot, (so for
Valar Morghulis (Core) or Wildfire Assault (Core)) you'd need to play this in the pre-plot step.
Unless, by "at least one" it means all the cards in their hand, a minimum of one. If that's the case to me its very poorly worded.

Red Vengeance
Yesterday, 03:10 PM by slothgodfather
It is still your claim value. All things that effect claim are still in place, such as things that raise/lower/change your claim. Also note that you still "win" the challenge, and they still "lost" it. It doesn't change that. So other abilities can still trigger from that.

My opponent plays Red Vengeance and I have to satisfy the claim of the challenge as if I had lost that challenge as the defender. What is the claim value? His plot's or mine's?

Will include 1 copy of him in most of my GJ builds, good icon and the ability is very good for the cost. Gets even better when specifically running maesters

Doran Martell
Yesterday, 06:54 AM by emptyrepublic
Digging up an old discussion but I think this card is priced right when you consider the Martell library as a whole. This version of Doran + The Brimstone (TBC) is a very potent combination; especially in melee games.

Yes it can. Just like if you are playing an out of house character, you can use reducers to reduce the out of house penalty there too.

Can this be used to reduce the additional cost from City of Shadows (CoS) when using out-of-house shadows cards?

HBO made a very poor adaptation of the second book.
This card should barely be targaryen if we take a look at the books.

Keggy - Under Targ Shadow Seer (FtC) can also help you put a Shadows card into Shadows for free. It's conditional - you have to win a challenge they participated in. But it can be an effective cost savings there. Doesn't help you bring anything out of shadows though.
