You'd be using the Brotherhood agenda, so it'd go on Anguy ;).

Now just get out a High Septon (LotR) out at the same time, a copy of The House of Black and White (tHoBaW)... maybe run it out of Greyjoy for Sacrificed to Two Gods (ARotD) and Tarle the Thrice-Drowned (RotO)... What deck were we building again? Ah, right, well our Greyjoy Brotherhood Holy deck with an out-of-house-of-black-and-white could get a pretty cool 11 power from that Valar! More if we have more copies of the event... Hmm...

...Is it bad that I really want to build this deck now?

Tricky buisness since Septon claims power for Your house ! :) (Yes, that's only issue with this deck idea :) )

I totally have to look into how he works in the Epic Phase, since I don't remember if there is an action window in the Epic Phase?

That's card is GREAT paired with Old Nan. She can give any opponants attacking character the House Bolton trait & kneeling AF sends them back to hand. It also helps your own draw to send cheap 0 to 2 cost Boltons back to hand to Marshall next round. If you have The Dredfort out, then your drawing cards again.

I've actually played Valar Morghulis (Core) against my opponent's Manning the City Walls (CD). They won initiative, went first, chose my plot to go first. It killed everyone including Lucas. I had saved a few characters but the Stark player had a cleared board. He triggers his plot next and puts in an Army. He triggers Lucas's response and then moribund cards leave play. As his first player action in the plot phase he MIL challenges me, clears my board and reaches 15 power.

No, you trigger the response, then everyone dies because there's no player action window between his response and the dead characters leaving play. If you were able to save any characters, you could then do a follow up military with them.

If someone valars I know that everyone goes to moribund first and you can trigger responses on the cards. Is it possible to trigger his response on a valar and then using the cards in play launch a military challenge and then move everyone to the dead pile after that?

This with
The Red Viper (PotS) can be a game winner, although he loses immunities. Especially in melee.

When combined with Anguy the Archer (DB) a valar can be a pretty good power swing.

Valar Morghulis

NuFenix explains it well, but here is a breakdown of the timing.

Assuming your flipped VM, Joffrey is your character and that VM is the plot chosen to resolve first, here is the timing:
Step 1 Initiation: Valar initiates
Step 2 Saves/Cancels: Use any available saves here. In this example, lets say 3 lords have not be saved - including Joffrey.
Step 3 Resolution: All characters not saved become moribund:dead pile
*Repeat Step 1, 2 & 3 for opponent's plot
Step 4 Passives: Any passives to things that have occurred in any of the previous steps (including Step 4) - example would be Golden Tooth Mines (Core)
Step 5 Responses: Starting with the first player, players take turns triggering 1 response at a time if applicable. Your opponent has nothing to trigger so you trigger Joffrey's response to the first lord that died and claim a power. Your opponent passes on responses. You trigger Joff and get a power. Opponent passes. You trigger Joff and get a power.
Step 6 Clean-up: all moribund cards leave play

Assuming you only needed that 3 power to reach 15 you win before your cards leave play.

i see this as a good valar recovery card or a win more situation as the above comments have mentioned.
Valar Morghulis
May 17 2013 12:31 AM by NuFenix
All when revealeds happen in the order chosen by the first player, then passives, followed by responses.

So everyone who isn't saved will die at the same time to Valar, and then in the response step, Joffrey will be able to use his response, which could cause the game to end whilst he is moribund: dead pile (assuming he died).

mnemonicuz: slothgodfather answered that just above your own post, but just to clarify: yes, you do score points before he dies. This is also covered in the FAQ. As soon as Valar triggers, all characters not saved go into moribund state, but they won't leave the table until phase 6, while responses are phase 5, IIRC (refer to the FAQ for further info on the Framework Action Window). This means that you can trigger Joffrey's Response while he is still on the table, in "moribund" state, but before he is sent to the dead pile. If this power (from 1 to 3, depending on Lords and Ladies in play) gets you to 15, then Huzzah! you win. If not, the power will just get discarded as soon as phase 6 kicks in.

I've been trying out exactly that, it works very well. Great for set-up too.
Valar Morghulis

In which order are characters killed by Valar Morghulis? All at the same time?
My question is whether Joffrey Baratheon (Core) can score 3 points before he dies himself, in some cases this might win a match.
