In the future could you put the decklists in the arcticle or give a link to it, as it is kinda hard to follow when you don't have the decklist in front of you. Otherwise great job as always.
Shoot, I left the list open in another window with the intent of posting it with the episode, but I slipped up and didn't actually paste it here. Let me edit that right quick...
Thanks for taking the time to go through my son's deck! Enjoyed listening to the show. He's trying out his new Targ build against my Stark Knight Defense deck and my Bara Asshai. Will see how it goes!
I am personally not a huge fan of either Fear of Winter or the 1 STR shadow Hatchlings in a burn deck. With ambush and burn you typically want to be playing stuff from hand and the 1 STR guys go away on your threat turns. I'd consider Silent Sistera (KOtS) and Valar instead.
First off - great podcast as always. I always love to hear you guys break down a deck and discuss which cards should go, which should stay, and what you might add. You're both great at giving real reasons for the decisions you're making and those are a great help to hear this from experienced players and I was super-excited when I realized you were about to do this with a Burn deck.

I do want to ask a few questions though:
  • I echo OKTarg regarding Fear of Winter. Normally, it seems that card is used as a board position lock and Burn decks aren't usually as interested in specific board position as much as they are being able to play cards from hand using Influence and kill off characters. Neither of you really explained why you felt Fear was a good choice here.
  • While you explain with solid reasoning why First Snow might still fit this deck, I'm curious about your choice to keep Rule By Decree when, given your own logic, a lot of your own cards are being returned to hand. You also have worked hard to ensure a solid draw mechanic is available... isn't Rule a greater danger to you than your opponent?
  • Again, echoing OKTarg, I'm also curious about keeping the the low strength hatchlings. They don't see to add much to the decks overall strategy (except maybe curve... but aren't there other options for that?)
Anyway - I ask because I would love to hear what you and Zeiler thought regarding those cards specifically and why you kept those in the deck.

Loved the podcast, as always.

Oh, and, since Zeiler has some experience playing Targ... it would be cool to hear you guys build a Burn deck from scratch using the currently available cards. If you were so inclined, might you guys be willing to build a "best-of archetypes" series for each House?
I figure the explicit tag was the reading of the Asha lines a few episodes back.
