Or with the new player cards coming this cycle that put stuff in the victory display.

Yep, I order my AP today!

My hero number 1.  Keen as Lances + Leave No Trace + Out of the Wild are must for her .

I'm not really all that high on this hero.  You need to run a bunch of otherwise useless cards (Leave No Trace, Out of the Wild) in order to make her good.

Interesting card though.  I hope more cards like Keen as Lances come out that make use of cards in the victory display.  Then I might consider using her.

The other benefit of those cards - that put non-victory cards in the victory display - is that the other players in your group can also run Keen as Lances, making it a lot more attractive option to consider.

Another benefit of Leave No Trace, Out of the Wild, etc., is the simple fact that they remove irritating enemy cards from the encounter deck--a brutal enemy that won't come up again, or removing a devastating treachery card...yes please!

Even without those cards, she is still a threat 8 hero with respectable questing ability.  I think she will be just fine.

I think that with Mirlonde and Treebeard, you start with only 20 threats!

She is the defender in my solo deck ( " A Burning Brand " + " Elven Mail " + " Dunedain Warning " + " Cloak of Lorien " = 4-7 Defence and no shadow effect can harm us). As I mentioned before, she benefits from " Keen as Lances ", " Leave No Trace " and " Out of the Wild " but also from Side Quest " Scout Ahead ".

Moreover, an event " None Return " which we will get in Across the Ettenmoors is another great card while Rossiel is one of our three heroes . We can only benefit from manipulating of Encounter Deck :) I use her with Aragorn (Tactic) and Halbarad (Leadership) but looking forward to another 4 new heroes from Angmar Awakened cycle.

If it's just Mirlonde and Treebeard, you'll start at 19, Add Rossiel and you'll have 26. If you want 20, you can start Spirit Glorfindel, Bifur, or PIppin.

Despite the lots of work for limited gain, I do like the idea of this hero. I can't work out who it's best to pair her with though, as I don't see any obvious synergies. Who do people usually use alongside her?
I could see her in a secrecy deck with Glorfindel, but never tried. I'm using her with Elrond and Mirlonde (single Player) \ Bifur (Multiplayer). I have all victory display cards in the deck + ents and Silvan Tracker and Warden of healing. She basically works via victory placement at 4 defense and the burning brand + ent moot and heals herself via Silvan Tracker. The deck is very versatile with massive healing, quest, attack and defense and the only deck I have that works in single AND Multiplayer. Rossiel performs quite well as a defender with self-healing. The third hero is an issue. Really looking forward to spoiled Thurindir to get Scout Ahead or Gather Information (for Vilya). Also, "Lot's of work for limited gain" isn't quite right. The victory placement of cards is a powerful instrument even without Rossiel. She just adds an added value to this mechanic. She is fun!

Mirlonde and Haldir for two-player, with my buddy running Celeborn, Galadriel and Legolas. That way the deck makes the most of Mirlonde's threat reduction and maximum Lore (to draw/search for her important cards) while still having access to elf-friendly attachments outside the sphere, particularly for Haldir. Only tried it a few of times solo and while it does well I found it just couldn't keep up if there are multiple enemies who auto-engage regardless of threat. Definitely fun though, and I'd agree with Palpa that she makes victory manipulation even more worth it when you consider how useful it can be just to get rid of a nasty event!

But what constitutes a trait? I'm a new player looking at Emyn Muil. Is Emyn Muil a trait? It's on the card where traits usually go I think. Or is there a list somewhere so you know what traits are associated with this hero?

Traits are in Bold Italics, near the top of the text box. So Rossiel has the trait Silvan. As you suspected Emyn Muil is also a trait. It is a region of Middle earth (like Mirkwood or Ered Luin) and it is no real surprise if most of the locations in the Hilll of Emyn Muil pack have that trait.

One of Rossiel's strength is that with an adventure, traits are usually shared across many location and other traits across many enemies (eg the bad guys will mostly be Orcs, or mostly Hillman, or mostly Spiders, etc.). There is no list of traits for Rossiel, as every new pack can bring new traits into existence.
