So clearly Eowyn's weapon

As opposed to being "clearly Théoden´s weapon" which gives him an immediate attack power of 6?

Or how about "clearly" Glorfindel + Nor am I a Stranger?

On a side note: successfully combining it with Galadriel + Nenya = awesomeness

How exactly do you combine it with Galadriel + Nenya? Nenya says Quest Action, so this requires something that lets you attack during the quest phase, and as far as I know there aren't that many ways of doing that.

There still are ways to do that but I should probably have read Nenya more carefully instead of skimming the ideas from the top of my head.

The whole point I am trying to make though, is that the statement "Clearly Éowyn´s weapon" is a  subjective truth (which forces you to either find readying alternatives or go through the quest phase without Éowyn) with many alternatives, not the least of which is "Nor am I a Stranger" and something like "Lay of the Nimrodel".

Not to say that you cannot find problems with those solutions as well as using it with Éowyn. Guess it just rubs me the wrong way a bit when someone tries to patent an idea as "the only correct solution".

I by no means truly meant that can only be used with Eowyn. Just it is really impressive that we now have a weapon that makes Eowyn a 5 attack that can get larger if people discard cards since you can use her ability any phase. My comment was more pointing out the very nice synergy with the two then actually only good option.

This gives Theoden 5 attack, not 6 (or I missed something?).

Tactics Theoden has 3 willpower, therefore 6 attack.

Without other card effects, the best you can get is an attack of 6, so it is definitely not super over powered, but it is definitely a good item and is also a restricted one.  The best use of your Nenya suggestion is with Hands Upon the Bow or Quick Strike - both allowing you to attack during the quest phase.

The other trick is getting the best use out of both stats, so you need someone who can ready after questing.   Such as Aragorn, Prince Imrahil, or Boromir (tactics) though I actually think Sam would be my favorite choice since he has a stat boost mechanic anyways, and is typically used for both questing and combat.  What other restricted weapon would give him +4 attack?

If you use Lay of Nimrodel right, you could get some serious power from this sword.

Gonna try this on Glorfindel with Nor am i a stranger -> valinor for questing, Herugrim for Glorfindel SMASH.

this card is just silly, as if willpower wasn't already the best sphere in the game by a big margin.  BTW, go find favor of the lady and laugh at that combo :) then add unexpected courage on Eowyn and :)

Yep, Eowyn with this and Unexpected Courage = Face smash. There are many good options, of course, but Eowyn is definitely at the top of that list.

Somehow I never even thought about this combo until someone mentioned it in the Galadriel comments but it is SO good.

I kind of dislike both Theodens so I think I just kind of dismissed this card without a proper look.

Which is madness because Eowyn is amazing and with this she is just bananas!

Without additional cards to add to the combo, the most you will get to swing for is 5 with any given Rohan hero.   So it's a 3 cost attachment to hit for +2 in most cases.  Eowyn can get higher than that though, especially if you are playing with a full party.   Galadriel doesn't work unless you are combining it with events that let you attack in the quest phase.

Maybe designers thought it would be too powerful with Galadriel? Trying to avoid too powerful combos?

Maybe, but I think it was more a case of it simply not being designed for her. This card was made for the Rohan characters. Theoden, obviously, but the others too. Sure you can Nor am I a Strager but the core functionality wasn't designed with that in mind.

Galadriel, on the other hand, really does her own thing and is meant to synergize with the ally bouncing strategies. It CAN work together...but there are more natural fits.

This plus Snowmane on Eowyn works great. Even though she doesn't get Theoden's discounts, she can Quest for 4+ and then ready to attack for 5+ (remembering that everyone can dump cards to pump her).
