I really like this guy just not sure how to best use him....
The second abbility is very handy indeed. Throw him into combat deck in two-player game a the other (quest) deck is much more safer from enemies. It is also usefull for some quests where enemies do make enganement checks (like the new one in the Lost realm)
For the first one? I think we will need to wait for other cards of this cycle to come up before "keeping an enemy engaged" will be really worth it. But Forest Snare always helps.
Yeah when it was spoiled Forest Snare was the very first card I thought of. Right now I am trying him in a Deck with Super Treebeard to destroy enemies while another player uses a lot of range and sentinel. Going to try him out today.
I really like him, and I've been using him recently in a deck with Elladan and Elrohir, and it's been fantastic. The brothers are so capable of handling many enemies per turn, so his ability has great synergy with them. I like having two leadership heroes in that deck because I use mainly leadership cards in the deck, most tactics cards are zero or one cost, other than Elven Mail. It's my favorite enemy management deck I've made yet.
Put Blood of Numenor on him and watch Halbarad quest and defend.
One of my favourite Heroes. Forest snare is a must in my deck so Halbarad can quest and attack.

I myself used a deck with the same hero lineup and found it pretty awesome but have changed Halbarad out for Sam of late and like the new deck better. For sure a great combination though! here is the last iteration of the deck before Halbarad came out for Sam: https://community.fa...ecks/?p=1589444
