I just realized wonderful synergy with Longbeard Elder. I think that while both responses occures after commit to a quest, the player may choose which one occurs first. So there is no need of Denethor or another form of scrying. This method is free and reusable every turn.
excellent idea!
What is the timing of the ready effect? does it happen
a) As soon as the card type is revealed, before it resolves, thus allowing for "Quick Ears" to be used.
b ) Once it is revealed and resolved, thus meaning cards like "Quick Ears" could not be used on the same card that triggers the Ready.
c) After all cards have been revealed and resolved, thus not allowing for a card like "Quick Ears" to be used at all.
I think it's a), but could see an argument for c).
If it is a) this leads to a second question of, if you use "Quick Ears" can you Ready from Wingfoot a second time if a second card of the Named Type is revealed?
With regards to quick-ears - in the FAQ they clarify that a cancel has to take place before any reactions/triggers to something - so you cannot use Wingfoot to ready when an enemy comes out and then use Quick Ears to cancel that enemy. Quick-ears has to be played first. Once you ready the hero with Wingfoot, you are past the opportunity to cancel it with Quick-ears.
Cheers - if two enemies come out, could you ready off the first, then quick ears off the second?
Absolutely.
