| Deck Strategy: | Thanks to more playtesting and some advice from camipco, the deck has come to this final version. The few changes to strategy are that I'd play Horn of Gondor on Boromir and Steward of Gondor on Imrahil. _______________________________________ This deck takes advatange of leaving play allies (see Gandlaf, Vassal of the Windlord, Winged Guardian and Sneak Attack), using Prince Imrahil, Horn of Gondor and Valiant Sacrifice. An eagle deck has to produce a lot of resources (those birds are expensive), so I put in Radagast, Horn of Gondor and Steward of Gondor (3 of each). Blade Mastery and For Gondor! are great cards in this deck, because Boromir and Imrahil can easily partecipate in both defending and attacking. The Eagles Are Coming! and Valiant Sacrifice let's you draw a decent amount of cards. Use Sneak Attack on Gandalf or Descendant of Thorondor to deal 4 damage to an enemy in the staging area. As you can see, I tried to put a lot of sinergy between cards. Feint, Blade of Gondolin, and Veteran Axehand are a must in a tactics deck. I put Faramir for some extra willpower as tactics sphere lacks of it. STRATEGY Put Horn of Gondor on either of the two tactics heroes, but be sure to put Steward of Gondor on Legolas to maximize the usefulness of For Gondor! (even if it's antithematic and you should use Legolas exclusively to attack, see later). I would always use Gandalf for questing and to reduce my threat level, for the threat level starts on 31 and Boromir's ability can fastly raise it. I usually quest with Imrahil, Faramir, Gandalf, Radagast, Descendant of Thorondor and Eagles of the Misty Mountains. It's not much, but Legolas and 3 Blade of Gondolin can add a lot of progess tokens by killing enemies. You can ready Imrahil only once per turn, so if you quest with him remember you can only use him to defend or attack in that turn. Don't be afraid to sacrifice an ally during combat just to ready Imrahil: you need a "suicide" mentality while palying this deck (If you played Magic, you know what I mean). There is no way to heal your heroes with this deck, so be careful. I succesfully tested the deck (solo playing) against the first two core adventures (lost no hero). I'll add more feedbacks as I'll test it with other adventures. PS: Sorry for the bad english, I'm italian. |
