My New FAQ reactions
Rulings/errata:
- Revealed cards – I… huh? This is one of those things that makes the game more complicated for seemingly no reason.

I suspect this was primarily to clarify (and to ensure) that Prophecy cards only work when they have been played on top of the deck, and not simply revealed as the top card of a deck, after the question was raised with Damon here

I sometimes forget that the FFG boards exist

I can't decide if that's a shame or not, since they're essentially the same as CGDB's now.

I imagine that we'll see them go eventually in favour of having people come here since they bought our land /waves fist

Also, I so misread the location for your Carnage on the Mountain event as Klingon-ton.

Where tournament tiebreakers are decided by Batt'leth duel?

And I supposed it was a matter of time before the deck builder was ported over to FFG's site, and these forums discontinued. We'll see what happens.

Where tournament tiebreakers are decided by Batt'leth duel?

I'll have to take it to the staff meeting, but I think they'd on board with that.

Ok, after sleeping on it I have some more thoughts regarding the new faq: When negotium was first put on the restricted list there was only 1 card that could effectively deal with it. I can't think of the name of it but it's from the summons of the deep cycle, it's neutral, it costs 0, and it blanks a story. Now, there are like 3 or more cards that can answer it. Maybe fantasy flight was waiting for more answers before they wanted to take it off the list...That has to be their reasoning for taking it off the list imho. Descendant I have no clue how that bastard slipped off the list. Lol! Everyone dust off your copies because it's time to take him for a spin again! I fear he's going to be EVERYWHERE! He will be like the new master of myths, everyone will have him in their decks. I'm going to be playing like ravager never made it to the list (locally anyways) because that was just a horrid decision. That is all.

it is a much steeper price paying success then it is to pay one, I feel like they did this to replace masters but unlike master I don't think Descendant belongs in every deck.

His icons, fast, and willpower by themselves make him better than almost any other character, regardless of the ability. What deck wouldn't want him?

It was fantastic to see cards come off the banned and restricted lists in decent numbers. FFG staying motivated!

I hope Initiate is next: it's rarely seen, now probably even rarer, given the (reasonable) inclusion of MoM.

It's not even a card I particularly like, either playing or playing against, but I hate to see the extinction of cards & strategies.

Negotium and Descendant coming off the list surprised me, I still think both are worthy of inclusion. I always prefer errata to bans, so I'm glad to see Magah Birds and Rats again.

The problem with MoM was that it was splashed into every deck, but I hate to see Silver Twilight get hit with the nerf bat over everyone else's transgressions when they already have a smaller card pool. I'd have much preferred to see it changed to "pay 1 Silver Twilight resource" but oh well...

My current deck didn't turn illegal but I might look at swapping Descendant into it.

I actually think that the Rats coming off of the banned list had more to do with Secrets of Arkham just getting reprinted. A player finally getting their hands on something after a year doesn't want to hear that he/she can't play it because it's banned. Nothing has changed much since Rats went on the banned list. Negotium was a big surprise, and it coming off really kind of kicks out any other conspiracies that were starting to see some uses. The only ones that will still see any sort of play will be mostly Festivities and Mage's Machinations, maybe Guardian.

Guardian will still see play competitively I think. I'm not that worried about Conspiracies because I only really worry about what's competitive a couple times a year - the rest of the time I can just play whatever I want :)

Someday I'd like to see Glimpse of the Void come off the banned list and get an errata that you remove it from play after resolving it, since the problem was about being able to recur it and play it repeatedly.

Why not clarify/expand the rules of prophecies if that was the main reason?

I don't like this rullng one bit. Lots of nice (but surely no OP) combo's have been shut down due to this new rule.

Did they really think these kind of combo's (herring + clover or prism + clover) were too powerfull and had to be shut down?

And I'm still not sure what happens if you try to reveal top card, but its already revealed... You reveal next one or effect fails?

And Prism doesn't even use word "revealed", is it revealed? "Each player plays with the top card of their deck faceup."
If they wanted to hit prophesies they could do it better IMO.

(Are prophecies OP? I haven't found them that powerful, but they're cheap and useful so maybe there is a way to abuse them hard)
