Like the thread name implies, which cards do you wish to see in the expansions of the Conquest LCG game?

 

Im looking for great ideas (Army, Event, etc.) and Warlords + staple cards, from your creative mind.

The best designs for me would be fitting for the Warlord and his name as it often easier to balance these out as a multitude of other cards but feel free to "design" anything you want. 

 

As a fan of the 40K universe and the Conquest game I'm looking forward to reading some excellent ideas. Because I'm quite sure some people have some great ideas on this subject. I think a thread of it's own is worth it because many players allready have shown us some great ideas in other topics.

 

For me personally, as a big fan of the World Eaters and Khorne I'd love to see a Khârn the Betrayer card. Besides that I'm also looking very forward to seeing Space Marines Sniper Scouts, Black Templar units, Chaos Raptor units and Banshee units.

 

(The same format is from FFG forums but due to more creative processes here I decided to start a thread here aswell.)

And my attempt at Kharn, basically I see him as someone for whom damage dealing is important, whether its on your side or the enemies! Note only 1 shield for his attachment as damage prevention is for wimps. Here goes:

I quite like the idea of Drazhar being an adaptable fighter based on enemies he faces.

When Drazhar commits to a planet, give him one of the following

- Area effect 1
- +2 Attack

Fits with the 40K tabletop game in which the Incubi weapons give you a choice of attack mode. Could easily be given as an ability to his sig unit too.

Then have an event that lets you move him to another planet after winning a battle at his planet (to make it different enough to foretell) and you're most of the way to a combat warlord who is very toolboxy in his approach.

I'd note that the above is pretty much the same as giving him Area Effect 1 and a high attack value, as you can't use both on the same strike anyway, though I suppose it'd stop switching round to round.

 

Actually, as a thought, now we have Baharroth who is just a Mobile Warlord and Aun'shi who is an Armourbane Warlord with bells on, I think there's plenty of room for Warlords whose special ability is just a Keyword.

 

As noted, Kharn would make an interesting Brutal Warlord, though an Ork would be just as good there. A Flying Asdrubael Vect would be fun, and an Area Effect 1 Space Marine Warlord could work too. A Ranged warlord would be almost impossible to bloody and could work for Tau. An Immune to Triggered Abilities Warlord could suit the AM.

Part of the Soul Drinkers series, the chapter becomes unwittingly corrupted by Chaos, but towards the end rejects both Chaos and the Imperium (or at least tries too).

 

Higher combat stats because the man is basically half spider now, and is an INCREDIBLY strong Psyker.  Lower CRD/RSC because they basically have no support from anyone these days, and are living off of a single Battle Barge.

 

I'm not sure what I'd do for Signature Squads yet, but I think adding some of these pieces from the BL stuff would add a lot of flavor to the game.

Lovely work guys! Keep it up, I knew there where some awesome ideas around.

 

- VonWibble, I really like the Berserker set up! I've got a bit inspired and posted mine below. Excellent Khornate cards altough I do feel the Khorne Berserkers of Khârn are a bit to powerfull hence I changed the concept a bit.

I also had a Mephiston designed in the FFG topic (dunno if you also have seen this?!) But will post that below aswell.

 

- Federico, I really like the ping-design to the extreme. It is something like Ku'gath but still different as the design returns over and over again on all cards. While at the same time I also think that this could be a bit boring, I would love to see some more inspiration :D

That Ripper Swarm on the other hand is perfect! I wouldn't be suprised if they ended up like that eventually.

 

- Asklepios, your onto something! ;) Im quite sure of it. Altough I do think we wouldn't see 3/3's for 3 with 2 Command as signature units. Imho they are to strong for that in both Command and Combat presence. I could see a 3 Costed unit being 3/3 with 1 Command or a 3 Costed unit being 3/2 with 2 Command.

 

Etaywah, awesome work. Altough 3 would be insanely powerfull for Straken AND Coteaz so I would suggest the exact same event but for 2 Tokens instead of 3. In special because it allready would be 2/4 Ambush bodies for 1 with 2 tokens.

 

- Others, love the suggestions so far! I think the Daemon Attachment is very unique and I also want to see a real Waaagh! card now. Altough Mine would be something more comparable to Drop Pod Assault. How would you guys like that idea?

My version of Waaagh!

Loyal Event

Cost 4
Shields 2

Combat Action: Play at the start of the combat phase. All Ork units in play gain +2 HP and +2 ATTK. A battle is fought at every planet this turn.


Note - Possibly modify the bonuses to Ork units but the idea is simple enough, lots of Ork aggression everywhere culminating in a Waaagh!



My one thought on the Asdrubeal Vect squad is that event is way too powerful. 0 cost to deploy a 6 cost card (ravage is loyal iirc), and get a card and resource??? For that effect you need to pay at least 3 for balance.

I think a better version would be to make it a non-vehicle unit, and have it go to HQ instead of a planet, and cost 1. And draw a card but not gain a resource.

The Trueborn are nicely balanced, in fact if you compare them to Baharroth's army unit you lose mobile but have +3 attack anywhere the warlord isn't, seems fair to me. The rest of the squad is a nice mix of effects too.


Killax - I hadn't seen the Mephiston topic no, would be interesting to compare.
On the Kharn elites - If they get to stand once and attack (general idea is they strike, Kharn strikes to stand them, they strike again) usually the opponent will get a blow in before it happens - and with 2hp left at that point there's a fair chance it kills them. Otoh some nice shenanigans with Kannon and Nurglings (when coming in from HQ). Given I like the theme of them, how would you change them?


edit - Ork search card isn't Waaagh! (which would put lots of Orks into play at once but discard them at the end of the turn if used as such), its a name like "U Fightin' or Wot?"
