Wow the Tacoma Convention Center? I've been there and it's huge. They must be expecting a big turnout to not just have it at a store.

Also, FFG posted the wrong date for the regionals at Red Castle Games. It should be June 13th.

So you'll be running Conquest the same day then Yipe? That would make the trip even more worth it.

I was gonna say, OH has a huge amount of players (not just our store) and were dead center of the region, and have been getting players from multiple states.
So they tell us 3 per region, assign us 2, then make them on opposite ends of the region?
That's a real kick in the teeth. I honestly didn't mind us not getting a regional (though I'd have liked to host it very much) but doing this to us? Complete crap.

if your upset message them, also if you only got 2 in the region then they may even add one don't complain here send ffg an email. (and not an aggressive one that wouldn't accomplish anything just ask for a reasoning).

Anyone familiar with Four Horseman in Morgantown?

Wow! I hope that's just a partial and preliminary list? For a Regional season where we go from 2 per region to 3 per, that seems like surprisingly few events!? Does anyone know how this year compares to last for number of events?

I won't be running the Conquest regional for Red Castle - I've only played it twice and it's one of the few LCGs I don't own. FFG asked if it would be a conflict to have both Conquest and CoC on the same day, but there's little overlap between the 2 games (at least down here) so I said it shouldn't be a problem.
I'm not sure what time they plan on starting Conquest. We generally begin CoC tournaments at 1 PM to give players traveling from WA enough time to get down here. I don't know if it would be feasible to play in both, though Red Castle is open until midnight so they might start Conquest later in the day? Hard to say.

Yea I'm gonna send them an email myself. I can be tactful sometimes!

I recommend emailing them, you might be surprised.
I had a similar situation happen last year when the venue I had run tournaments out of for 2 years decided not to order the 2014 regional kit without bothering to tell me (citing a lack of interest in Cthulhu). When I found out (which was past the application deadline by a month) I contacted FFG right away, told them what happened and lined up a new store.
FFG was understanding and said I could host a regional in Portland, but they only gave me 48 hours to secure a venue and get the kit ordered. I fronted the money for the prize kit and told my new venue they could keep anything over my cost. It worked out well.

There were 8 regional championships in the US last year, and 13 in 2013. By comparison there are 16 regionals this year, so I'd say that's quite an improvement. It's a good time for tournament Call of Cthulhu!

I contacted someone more specific within FFG who is a fan of the game. That person then forwarded my email to the Organized Play team (who called me back and told me what I needed to do). I would recommend calling FFG as it's faster and you can get transferred to the correct department.
PM sent by the way.

Very surprised there isn't one in Ohio somewhere....
Though, if it helps those traveling... in Pittsburgh, 5/3 is also our Monthly Cthulhu tournament. That's a full weekend of Cthulhu! It's practically a small convention just for the Cthulhu LCG.
If there is a big enough interest... I'll try and make it into a thing... with lots of things to do... for the full weekend (aka Saturday evening)

I'll be emailing and calling FFG tomm. No worries, I'm always polite with them and have contacted them for many other things. Just my initial shock at the list and how poorly my region was spaced and represented was....well I mean, shocking.
Hopefully we can get something worked out

As for Ohio, I'm fairly certain Epic Loot didn't apply this year. When I initially had heard this it made me optimistic that our local store would get one, but alas. Now I kinda wish they would have applied to keep one in state. Oh well!
I'll gauge interest locally for a big Cthulhu weekend for your tournaments but I suspect we might be able to pull together some dudes who would be in for the duration. My girlfriend has been wanting to visit Pittsburgh (only god knows why, GO BROWNS! CLEVELAND ROCKS!) and I suspect if I put the proper spin on it she'll be cool with going out on the town Friday and Saturday nights and letting me play cards during the day on Saturday and Sunday. I may even give her a deck and turn her loose on you guys.
