Just ordered 1 core set to play with me GF. If we'll like the game (if she'll like the game
) I'll be expanding it... just hope core decks will be fun to play. We are massive Game of Thrones geeks, so fingeres crossed for loads of fun evenings
If you are massive Game of Thrones fans then you will think this game if amazing. It is very, very good anyway and with the Game of Thrones world setting it makes it even better.
I started about 2 months back and now have every card available (of course I'm also collecting since I enjoy all things Thrones) except for the Ancient Enemies pack (curses) but one day I shall find it :-)
Also try the board game, I just got it last week and after 2 games I can say it is a 10 out of 10 also.

I new to this game and on my previous card games, I always plays a control deck but i'm not sure if AGoT has such thing as a control deck. Does anyone here knows which house decks works like a control deck?

Outisde the core, one of the strongest Control houses is Martell.

Using just the Core - your best bet will be Lannister, I believe. Baratheon is a Rush deck while Stark is an Aggro deck. Targ is, well, sorta controlly... but Lanni is probably what you'll want.

Thanks mate, another question here, what expansion is needed for me to make a control Martell deck?

I don't know of any that are specifically limited to those sets. You might try to PM him, but since he hasn't already responded to this... I'm assuming he's not online. :-D
Alright, thanks again. Cheers mate.
I'll post more here later today if i need help again.

I recently bought my third core set. I want to ask you if you have got any ideas of some balanced decks concerning a third core set.
Thank you.

I am pretty new to the game and managed finally to get my hands on 2 x core set and revised POTS and KOTS, and i am planning to build 6 balanced decks (as i play with 2 or 3 of my friends "gameboard style"
So my question is this :
Would You make any changes in the 6 decks presented on 1 page of the topic as
- POTS are also revised so You can make Martell deck from 3 copies of each card (like Greyjoy one) instead of 2 ?
- "core houses" are build before introducing PotS and KotS, would You add any cards from expansions to them ?
Our aim is to have balanced game but with biggest amount of fun and strategizing

Thanks a lot in advance for any replies !

To keep it even with the 2x core set builds I wouldn't add 3x any cards to Martell (perhaps with the exception of the reduction locations if it was necessary)Would You make any changes in the 6 decks presented on 1 page of the topic as

For fun you could if you wanted more varied gameplay, but in general I tried to keep the decks focused and if you start adding too much in there it gets hard to say what might unbalance things. Of course that is part of the fun of the game, if you wanted to get a little more variety then you could give your players a premade decks without the characters, then give them 10 minutes to look through the stack of characters and pick out enough to round out their decks.
Yeah melee is a whole different beast from joust.Just ordered 2nd core set. Played the game couple of times while on holiday with my girlfriend and I must say I was not impressed at all. 1 on 1 games were dull and it seemed like Starks could beat anything. So game rested for couple of months until we tried it with 3 players. Holy mother of god what difference did it make. It's a whole different game, so much fun, so unpredictable, so chaotic
Can't wait to try a game with those decks.

In case it proves helpful to folks, I added OCTGN deck files with these 4 decks to the Sample Decks folder inside my OCTGN AGoT installer kit, which has everything needed to play in one convenient zip.

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP,I'm caught in between Buying the LoW expansion or the PotS.I have the core set ,I really want to play stark but will the deck hold up or should i get the PotS If i Buy the LoW expansion useing the core set can i make a good stark deck and I dont me format breaking stark deck but something good?also do i get the plastic house card in these expansions?
It really depends on what you are playing against. No deck comprised of a core + a single expansion is going to win any big tournaments, but it is a good starting point.
Now I'm not quite sure why you're asking about PotS, if you want to play Stark than LoW is definitely the first expansion to get. If you've been told that Stark can't be competitive and that you should play Martell, that's hogwash.
