I'm certainly not underestimating Twists, but you can get Twists in other sets that have more total force icons (like Jawas for example) I hardly ever play DS decks without at least 2 twists.

Jawas will leave you worse off for edge than counsel. You can't count dark precog as one icon (unless you are about to get decked I guess) and that's not even counting the objective.

I guess we just have different opinions on how to count icons.  I prefer a straight count.   Both sets are useful in my opinion, and which one might be more useful depends on the overall deck build and basic strategy of the deck.    My point was that you can get Twists in other sets that have more printed  force icons than Counsel and I just used Tatooine Crash as one example.

When counting a whole deck it is probably easier to do a straight count. I mean what is important is the average force icons you will have in a hand of 6.

It's easy to look at some cards and say well it's a 0 or it's a 1 but I'm definitely playing it so it doesn't matter. Resources are a good example of this but sometimes you get locked with 2 limited resources in your hand and they are both 0. And for every 0 or 1 card you play and don't use for edge there are probably as many 3pip cards you do the same for.

I guess cards like Dark Precog make things harder. It costs 0 and will pretty much always be played. It gets you a card and let's you discard as well. So even though it only has 1 force pip it likely has the effect of dumping a 1 (itself) and a 0 or 1 force pip card from your overall average.

CotS definitely feels like more than a 4 force pip set but only because the twist creates opportunity and the dark precognition filters your cards. Neither effect can be underestimated. But on the other side you almost always play the Advisor right? Maybe not anymore.

I guess the real bonus is the objective which helps push your hand size up and therefore increases the average force pips per hand equation.

Sweep is one player wins with both sides and a split is when both players win one each

To really be able to tell what happened in each match you need dial, objectives destroyed by each side and cards left in deck. Just split and sweep don't help.

Someone probably already stated this but I'm tired and can't be bothered to check
