Ok, so I would have setup Tywin and not a Queen's Assassin. I would never have marshalled Widow's Wail if the ambush cost is 1.... and the intrigue claim of 2 didn't put any cards in the discard pile. I'm nitpicking.

Because really, it seemed superb. The match looked fun, the cards looked great, lots of new spoilers, the challenge decisions seemed plausible. I really enjoyed the video - my only "real" gripe would be that it's not broken down in sections (or time markers) so people can re-watch a phase they're confused about, like the old one was.

For me the real take home message was the visuals; I may have some gripes with art on individual cards, but the overall appearance of the game on the table just looks stellar. I'm excited.

The wait for Gen Con was quick as lighting, but now it feels like a slow crawl with the anticipation to get my hands on this game!

as someone who has never even seen a game of AGOT before, i felt the video did an awesome job of explaining the game. i really like how you start with 8 gold worth of characters in play. lets you get to the action much quicker. It seems like the intruge challange effect is kinda weak, but that is probibly just my inexperience with the game talking. overall, i love the way the cards look, they look much more visually inviting than the old ones did. All in all, great job FFG. I cant wait to grab my copy at gencon.

I assume they didn't want to go too much into detail with the more "complex" keywords, and action windows, and what not.

Well think of a card game than picture how much different it would be if you lost a card (or more) at random each turn and your opponent may gain extra benefits such as renown (extra power/closer to win condition). However, it will be interesting if the new reserve value effects the value of intrigue in the game.

I think if you look ahead to turn 2 of that game, the Stark player is on 4 cards (plus his draw), and would suffer if hit by a claim 2 intrigue challenge.

What have we learnt in general?

- Pillage is a keyword for Greyjoy, and it discards stuff

- Joust won't be returning as a keyword in the near future (given Knight of Flowers has it)

- Tyrell are about strength pumps (making burn less of a worry)

- We have neutral event cancel (Hand's Judgement)

- We have Confiscation and We do not Sow as additional attachment control options

- Arianne Martell's ability and card art are both very nice!

- Betrayal and stand tokens? I can't help but think we will just have generic tokens that get defined uses on the cards on which they are placed, which beats just using gold coins.

- As an aside to that, pleased to see Henning Lugvigsen is doing some card art, I like the art style from Call of Chthulu.

I'm really happy to see that so many important effects are covered by neutral cards.. Character blanking, attachment control, event countering, and recursion are all available for any faction to use.

The betrayal, stand, etc. tokens are totally going to be generic. No doubt in my mind.

Anyway, wasn't there a misplay, in that Sansa entered play standing?

All cards placed during setup enter play as if they were "blanked" so they don´t trigger their "after come into play abilities", responses and forced effects. So it was in first edition and it seems it remained the same in second.

Custom stand, betrayal, lemon cake, etc. tokens will certainly be a coveted tournament prize.

i'm guessing Pillage will read: After you win an unopposed challenge choose and discard a card/ location/attachment with cost X or less where X is the strength by which you won the challenge.

What do you make of the "Terminal" keyword?

Will non-Terminal attachments NOT get discarded when the attached card leaves play...sort of like equipment in Magic?

I do remember reading that FFG wanted to make attachments more meaningful so this could be part of that.
