Ultra Pro Matte are not opaque depending on the color. The FFG art sleeves look pretty but degrade fast, so I only use them on plots/house/agenda. I use the Hyper Matte sleeves by KMC, they are super durable and high quality. Plus they come in an 80-sleeve pack so you only need one pack for a deck.

I plan on testing the KMC you mentioned asap. FFG's are quite terrible, definitely not durable.

This talk of double-sleeving with KMC perfect size and KMC hyper mat sleeves has got me interested. I just ordered two packs of each to try this out for myself when I get my core sets next week.

He uses KMC Supers but the basic idea is the same.

What is the point of double sleeving? (asking for a friend)

See the video above. The short version is that double sleeve cards are extremely well protected. They won't get dirt from an opening at the top like single sleeving does and are even protected against drink spills.

I use KMC Hyper Mat sleeves. They're clear, uniform, and have a slightly textured surface on the back. I've never had any issues with them.

More important for ccg cards since it keeps mint condition better than single sleeving. For lcgs that consideration is much less important.

I find dragon sleeves are some times curled. I stick my cards in anyway and hope they flatten out but they dont. Not completely flat anyway.

I am a hardcore Dragon Shield fan (I've had the same set for over 14 years with at least weekly shuffling, and they're playable if slightly worn).  The new matte Dragon Shields are absolutely fantastic.  I'm hard on decks when I shuffle, and I've had them for over a week of heavy play due to a new Magic set coming out, and the corners are still sharp.  They shuffle like a dream too.  I've used KMC and Ultra Pro and a variety of art sleeves, but the matte Dragon shields are the flat out best I've ever used.  I'm in the process of switching all my decks for my card games over to them.  The only downside right now is that they seem to only come in black, white, blue, red, and green.

Everyone has their own personal preference. Personally I've always used Dragon Shields. They simply do not split...ever. I've had a set of about 800 for the past 6-8 years and they are still playable. Slightly worn yes but playable. KMCs are also great. Can't really go wrong with either brand. Ultra Pro however is pretty terrible. The backs are not opaque enough for tournament play as the card backs can show through. They also split terribly easy and wear very quickly. They are still the third best choice regardless, but it's a rather large gap between 1-2 and 3.

When your cards cost two times your rent, better double sleeve them. For agot it's kinda pointless.

Not quite pointless, it does keep the cards in better condition, it's just that being in better condition has no monetary significance in an LCG. But might still be worth it for those of us that have certain quality control issues.

Also, I liked Dragon Shields and everyone around here loves them. But the second box of them I purchased were not cut/finished uniformly. They had a rough and uneven edge on one side, no one else's seemed to ever be this way, but I could never trust buying them again after getting such a crappy set and I've been looking for something else. Recently I had been using the Ultra Pro Pro-Matte sleeves, which have been my favorite and most consistent thus far, but I am going to try out these KMC hyper-mat sleeves for second edition and see how I feel about those, since they have had such rave reviews.

I like the tactile elements of card games so much, I just like the feel of a double sleeved card. They almost feel like placards instead of cards, which I just enjoy.

I do love double sleeving. Once I fully settle on a deck enough that I'm not sleeving/unsleeving things regularly to tweak it, I usually double sleeve it.  Currently only my Commander and Tiny Leaders decks for Magic have reached that point though.

I bought KMC Hyper Mat PREMIUM, which have matte finish in both sides.

I highly recommend them, non glossy, extra tough, everything Ultra Pro does but better - all around amazing.

I find with the thrones cards to be slightly larger than star wars or netrunner cards.  I have sleeved all 3 games in dragon shields and thrones 2.0 cards seem to be much closer to the edge than others.  Maybe ffg made them slightly larger so people would buy their sleeves which in turn are slightly taller than dragon shields, and ultra pros are shorter than both of them.  anyone else notice how the thrones cards are slightly bigger?

Holding Agot, Netrunner and Lotr cards right now. All seem the same.

Could just be the cut on your Dragon Sheild sleeves. The length can vary from one box to another ever so slightly.

I tried the FFG ones. They tend to split easily and the colored back seems to come off after minor use. Also they seem a bit too large. Would not recommend.

The ultra pro ones are fine, not great. I like the texture on the back so that cards tend to not stick together. I dislike how easily they break. Also some sets shuffle butter smooth, others are like sandpaper and feel terrible. I find them inconsistent. Overall a fine buy and hard to go wrong with these.

Now. I use dragon shields. Love them. They seem strong and all shuffle nicely
They are more expensive yet more durable. A friend of mine (Barnie25) says they split as well but I haven't seen it. Overall these are the sleeves I would recommend nowadays. Haven't tried legions or KMC thought and heard good things about those.

Funny, I heard Legions are horrible. Dragon Shield Matte are now my sleeve of choice. Such a butter smooth shuffle. :)
