Jon Snow vs Ghaston Grey - "Attacker"?

- - - - -

Best Answer ktom , 19 August 2015 - 11:51 PM

Attacker, Attacking Character, Attacking Player (RRG, p.3):

The term “attacking character” refers to a character that is participating in a challenge on the side of the player who initiated the challenge.

So yes, when Ghaston Grey refers to to an "attacking character," it includes Jon Snow, who is participating on the side of the player who initiated the challenge, even though he was never formally declared as an attacker.

When Jon Snow is standing, and you initiate a challenge with another character, is Jon Snow considered an attacking character for the purpose of Ghaston Grey?

I ask this because it says he's considered to be participating, not necessarily that he is also an attacking character. His effect works with the plot Jousting Contest (Each player cannot declare more than 1 character as an attacker or defender in each challenge) because he's not being declared as an attacker, only that he is participating. Can he still be bounced after you win a challenge while he's participating?

Thanks. I was hoping that might have been a weird working loophole, though I knew better. What a hard counter to any Jon Snow tower strats :(
