So today I chose Lanni Crossing because (a) I wanted to test Shae and Boy King with Ilyn (haven't played Lanni in this cycle) and (b} it was at the home ground of my Nemesis, the UK Nats Champ (so no point playing jank). My record against him was 4-1 before this (each game we have played a different faction/agenda) with my only victory with Lanni Wolf when he was very unlucky. It was hard building a new good deck to play against him but settled on "Lanni Knights" because of 2 new cards to test (and because I had mentioned Lanni Crossing in the Best Control Decks thread).
LANNI KNIGHTS
Lord of the Crossing
Varys' Riddle
Trading with the Pentoshi
Winter Festival x2
First Snow of Winter
Marched to the Wall
Counting Coppers
3 reducer
3 burned men
3 red cloaks
3 hedge knights
1 tickler
1 shae
1 hound
3 raiders
1 cersei
1 littlefinger
1 syrio
3 tyrion
3 ilyn
3 jaime
3 gregor
3 tywin
3 milk
1 wail
1 boy king
1 seal
9 limited
3 sword
3 tears
3 treachery
Once you accept Ilyn for Boy King, then Hedge Knights seemed an obvious way to efficiently shore up your missing power icon (12 Knights in total). And Boy King was stellar in such an aggressive rush with event and character ability kill.
I was worried about Shae with Blade out (she's also Ilyn fodder) and even faced a Martell during the 4 rounds but she was stellar in Crossing, well worth x1 in every Lanni Crossing deck forever.
The mindgames over Riddle and Trading were fun, especially as I anticipated Naval would leave the meta due to Seasons. Riddle also allowed me to risk 1 character set up (like Tywin + Kingsroad) as nobody sets up more than 2 characters these days and I'll take Riddle (5 gold, 7 reserve) vs Marched (4 gold, 5 reserve) on an empty board anyday. Riddle has removed the need to be more balanced in your build for set up, thereby accentuating the big guy meta. If only First Snow didn't exist...
There was a feeling of inevitability that we would meet in the final again. Of course a great player like my Nemesis would never be easily fooled and did not fall into my trap by opening Riddle (he had it) to my Trading. He also anticipated my First Snow perfectly (even knowing I had 2 burned men, I'd caught him out before) and although I got 3 good Plot flips (my Festivals skipped his Summer plots then I Riddle his Close Call), his start put me too much on the defensive and I didn't really see my main characters until too late. Whilst any Crossing is a good match-up for his build (I don't want to say more as it is a very good deck idea that's not known), he outplayed me 15-10. My deck is very solid, just the pilot needs to practice outside of tourneys. Another second but lessons learnt.
So what did I learn today?
Riddle allows you to play an unbalanced build like above, the 3 Winter plots means you can go back to the Swiss Army Knife build of 3x Sword, 3x Tears, 3x Milk (for dupes) that can be delivered via Crossing. As Crossing is primarily a Rush build (Festival x2) but this type of Lanni Crossing brings Aggro-Control to the mix, both Shae and Boy King fit perfectly here. So by combining all 3 vertices of the triangle, Aggro, Rush and Control, the build feels supremely versatile to Rush vs Control, Aggro vs Rush or Control vs Aggro, to adopt the right approach dependent on opponent.
Give it a try. It plays smooth.

Lions of Castely Rock is out on the Streets and the Lannister Thread lies dead in the gutter al the same? So I will dance the Qyburn dance and sing: "Rise Lannister Thread Rise, for what was dead will pay it's debts"

Wow, is Isle of Ravens ever amazing in a Jumper deck! 2x!
So many locations, soo little deck space.

Yup, the location set is really tight. What do you guys think about the following;
- 3 Fiefdoms
- 3 Kingsroads
- 1 Goldroad
- 3 Harrenhal
- 1 Tower of the Hand
- 2 Shadowblack
- 2 Isles
Makes 15 in total, which I have found to be a reasonable number.

In a non-Clansmen themed jumper deck I'm testing:
9 economy
2 Isles
2 Harrenhall
2 Tower of the Hand
So far I haven't missed Shadowblack.

If you start whiffing on INBAMF, you will.In a non-Clansmen themed jumper deck I'm testing:
9 economy
2 Isles
2 Harrenhall
2 Tower of the Hand
So far I haven't missed Shadowblack.
EDIT: Oh, that's right Isle of Ravens will also reshuffle. But Shadowblack fetches you INBAMF and shuffles. Maybe one each?

How are people's Jumping decks currently constructed? I'm using the following build, but don't have much experience in the Valar meta:
