Runs Lychguard, Harbinger, and Monolith. Mulligans for STC Fragment, which he runs 3x. Has Backlash. Runs Resurrection Orb and Phylactery. Only ally is ECT to fish for attachments. Runs very few or zero Necrons without hammers on them.

Sounds similar-ish to mine. Choke his command and you'll win, since if he can't find the set pieces he can't play them, especially since there's a larger chance of not drawing the Monoliths or Orbs in a 65 card deck

Pehj, your deck is wonderfully toolboxy.

As you are oddly unaverse to going past 50 cards why not add a 3rd Recycle to go to 52 cards? It'll get you through to the cards you want to see faster, and build up that discard for the usual synergies.

I find that I rarely use Recycle to be honest, so I see little reason to add another one. The main use for recycle is a desperation play rather than a deploy stall since there's normally a better use for the resource, even if I have over 10, unless it's being played from the discard pile, in which case it gives a good card advantage and a good way to set up an Orb. If I was going to hit 52 I'd add either a Warrior of Gidrim, Mechanical Enhancement, Fall Back or Backlash before I'd add a Recycle

Here's my tourney report for my matches at GenCon, ending at Top 16. First, here's my decklist:

Anrakyr the Traveler

Pyrrhian Eternals x5
Awake the Sleepers x1
Pyrrhian Warscythe x1
Slumbering Tomb x1

Warriors of Gidrim x3
Flayed Ones Pack x3
Reanimating Warriors x3
Rogue Trader x3
Immortal Legion x3
Harbinger of Eternity x3

Freebooter Kaptain x2

Recycle x3
Mechanical Enhancement x3
Reanimation Protocol x2
Extermination x1

Gauss Flayer x3
Royal Phylactery x3
Promotion x3

Resurrection Orb x1
Mind Shackle Scarab x2

Timeworn Stasis-Crypt x1

Game 1: Aun'shi/Eldar

This deck was supported by Eldar Vehicles, like Wildrider Vyper, Nightshade Interceptor, and Drones like Furious Wraithblade. He rushed the first two planets while I set myself up to build in the longer game. I managed to kill the Nightshade with a pair of Gauss Flayers, then bought it for myself the next turn. I was able to swing the game by seeing both of my Mind Shackle Scarabs for a Furious Wraithblade and a Wildrider Squadron. Game went to Turn 7, where I was able to survive with attrition, even against a MIghty Wraithknight. 1-0

Game 2: Kith/Chaos

I managed to survive an annoying Venomous Fiend placed on Planet 2, and developed a strong enough Command to keep myself afloat with shields. My opponent kept trying to pull off a Klavix, but I kept shielding through his attacks to prevent him from using it efficiently. Coupled with two triggers of Tarrus, I had plenty of money to keep buying more units over the course of the game. Gauss Flayer was able to intimidate the Fiend away from fights and prolong the game until Turn 5, Where I was able to buy his dead Khymeramasters for my own Khymera token (first one I ever used!) and survive with a Mechanical Enhancement. 2-0

Game 3: Aun'shi/???

I'm not sure if my opponent had an ally, as I didn't see any. This was a cheap horde deck; none of his units cost more than 2. He saw two copies of Orbital City, and used it to abuse the use of Battle Actions. But both of us kept having poor command due to tied hammers at most planets, but being able to keep buying back a unit from my discard kept me slowly ahead on unit count over the course of the game. All of his units were cheap and weak, and most of the units I saw were Immortal Legion and decent sized Phyrrian Eternals, so I could consistently kill most of his units per combat before he could kill one of mine. Won the game on Turn 5.

Game 4: Urien/Eldar

Not only was this an unusual Warlord choice, his deck was fat (like clearly more than 60 cards). What completely threw me off was an Ambushed Klavix without the Reaction, but followed up with Shuriken Catapult and hitting my damaged Warlord for 6, Bloodying Anrakyr on Turn 2. I had to play super conservatively for the next two turns, knowing that he was trying to play an assassination deck. Luckily I saw a MCC, which I put on his massive Klavix on Turn 4 and scared him away. He pulled off two Soul Seizures, taking an Immortal Legion and a Harbinger from my own discard, and he was even running Archon's Terror despite the +1 cost. I threw everything I had at his biggest hitting units, leaving him with much smaller spuds like Razorwings and other 1/1 units. Mechanical Enhancement helped me survive the final battle. It was a long, brain melting game. 4-0

Game 5: Kith/Chaos

Got Rickety-Rickety-WRECKED by this pure choke deck. He gets Turn 1 Palace and all of his command units had two hammers. Turn 2 my Immortal Legion gets routed by Archon's Terror, and Turn 3 my Harbinger gets killed by Klavix. Game was over in less than 10 minutes, I did not win a single command struggle. 4-1

Game 6: Kugath/Dark Eldar

A Demon Elite deck, I once again find myself getting Rickety-Rickety-WRECKED by a Turn 1 Corrupted Teleporarium and a Possessed on the first planet, Plannum. Turn 2 he plays a Heldrake. Turn 3 I cry on the inside. 4-2

Top 16: Starbane/Tau

Vehicles and Drones supported by Bonesinger Choir. Had a hard time with Command due to the power of Starbane, but managed to win a couple of first planet battles. Got to use both of my MCC's, but I put them on units that could move away from where I would want to put them. Turn 5 battle, my whole army showed up exhausted against a Drone Defense System and a large assortment of Vehicles. I didn't get completely crushed over the course of the game, but it certainly could have been better. (Opponent was 2nd place overall)

Overall thoughts: my deck might have some command issues against dedicated choke decks, and gets sledgehammered by Elite decks. I'm thinking of finding room for Defensive Protocols.

Great report. It is interesting to see different takes on how to build an Anrakyr deck. Well done. Given that you think the deck struggles versus two of the most common deck styles out there, you did really well.

My current elite-focussed Anrakyr deck.

The unit count is a bit too low to get the Monolith to hit consistently. Necron supports would be first to go if I needed more units.

Warlord:
1x Anrakyr the Traveller (Legions of Death)

Army Unit: (25)

1x Inquisitor Caius Wroth (Descendants of Isha)
3x Lychguard Sentinel (Legions of Death)
3x Rogue Trader (Core Set)
3x Void Pirate (Core Set)

Attachment: (4)
1x Pyrrhian Warscythe (Legions of Death)
3x Royal Phylactery (Legions of Death)

Event: (13)
1x Awake the Sleepers (Legions of Death)
3x Backlash (Legions of Death)
2x Defensive Protocols (Unforgiven)
1x Extermination (Legions of Death)
3x Mechanical Enhancement (Legions of Death)

You might not need Eternity Gate; I feel it's better suited alongside Resurrection Orb. I think your unit count is fine, but more shields wouldn't hurt. Reanimation Protocols or Hyperphase Sword would be good options.

I saw it mostly as a tool to harvest units from the opponent's discard. You are correct, though, that it is not a card I get a great deal of use out of. The Gauss guns were actually the last cards out of this deck. I include them for a bit of hard control. Not great, but being able to take out a Librarian at action speed or a Possessed if you have two guns at the planet is better than nothing.

Perhaps both Weight of Aeons and Eternity Gate could stand to be replaced by events/attachments.

I wonder, why no Monolith. That is one of the strongest units Necrons have, and works well with Anrakyr.

With Harbinger, it gets you extra Events in the discard pile presumably.

Oh yeah, I've played the Monoltih containing version quite a lot, also with the resurrection orbs, the extra eternity gate and weight of aeons. Likewise, that deck has the 4-cost Necron fighting units for Monolith to fetch out. Its a different build, that can escalate to far bigger board presence than this deck. Whats more that deck I run just 1 Harbinger, as its more attachment driven.

This version is more about follower of mork + sentinel, and maximising the means to assemble and protect that combo. Its style is different, intending to give a more rounded low cost curve.

Is that some bad joke? What is that attitude?

The last post was in September 2016! You're not happy the game is alive? Then please find yourself another game but don't bully our community. We all try to be inviting as the game is dying and you just bully players? You'd better leave rather than trying to make sure the game dies. Your attitude is childish.

Yeh I'm with Team Apoka on this one. I can almost guarantee that if someone had posted with BCL cards you wouldn't have raised an eyebrow.

How have you found tomb Blade diversionist? Seems to me to be a bit expensivw to have much of an effect. However, looking at the deck, I imagine you use optimised protocol to cheat them into play?

I've tried to make a deck which utilised Doom Scythe, but haven't really found one which clicked. Bit dissapoiting it doesn't synergise with fall back, but we can;t have everything in life I suppose.

Why no drudgery? action-speed army creation with optimised protocol could be good.

I'd be interested as to how this deck turns out.

With regards to monolith, I've generally found that while powerful, if the game isnt going your way it can massively clog up your hand, or force you to play it, which can be worse, since it is vulnerable

This **** again, really? There are only fan made cards outside FFGs, which you use is up to you, but keep your damn negativity to yourself. I hope you feel towards the BCL cards the way you do towards Apoka, else you're a hypocrite.

I'm really disappointed in you Stefan, and that this **** continued to be a subject. Especially towards people who are just trying to deliver content.

In Stefan's defence, he actually dislikes both of the expansions, so he's definitely consistent. A stubborn purist!
