I'd expect an article a week with the game for sale at Arkham Nights in six weeks. Will be fully spoiled then so I'm sure they want to have all the officials articles out by then.

Love how one of the encounter sets is just 3x of the same card.

Will say that is worse part of buying multiple cores for this game. But at least only need two for playset so that's not bad

Yeah was same issue with lotr. Ill likely leave the extra encounter cards sealed and stored in case I ever need them later.

Was it confirmed that the Rat set was just 3x rats? Seemed to me like the set had no treacheries but that it would have more cards unless I'm mis-reading it.

Article says it has 3 rats and the set is numbered of /3. So only 3 rats.

Yeah I'm curious if all the encounter sets are that small. I mean, locations are separate from the encounter deck, and I assume the main encounter set is larger, so maybe they are just trying to make the 'general' encounter sets that go in multiple scenarios a smaller part of the game?

We've seen sets that are 3,16,7 in that one article alone.

Also locations and enemies are in the same set. The set with the torch. Has some Ghoul enemies.

In other areas we have seen a set that is 6, another 7.

Yeah, it looks like sets will vary significantly in size.  Which is fine with me, there's no particular reason they need to all be the same size.

And since it ordinarily takes multiple sets to make up an encounter deck, that only seems like a good thing.

Encounter sets:
The Gathering: #104-119 (16 different cards)
unknown: #120-158 (possibly Arkham + two big adventure sets)
Rats: #159 (3 cards)
Ghouls: #160-162 (7 cards)
Striking Fear: #163-165 (7 cards)
unknown: #166-168
Pentagram: #169-171 (6 cards)
Nightgaunt: #172-173 (4 cards)
unknown: #174-176
Yithian: #177-178 (4 cards)

We know three more generic treacheries belonging to three different encounter sets (Ancient Evils, Obscuring Fog, Umordhoth's Wrath). So yeah, scenarios are indeed small. One average scenario set is just 2-3 different cards, 2-3 copies each.

The Arkham locations (St. Mary's Hospital, Southside, Northside, Graveyard) seem to belong to one set, while unique enemies that spawn at those locations (Ruth Turner and Victoria Devereux) belong to another set. So it looks like these Arkham locations will be used in the other two adventrues of the Night of the Zealot campaign, and possibly reused in multiple adventures.

With smaller encounter sets it makes it easier to vary the scenarios based on the results of earlier scenarios in the campaign. E.g. if the investigators lose the first scenario the ghouls escape the house, add the 7 card ghoul set to the next scenario replacing a encounter set of a similar size (e.g. cultists).
