Hello Everyone,

About a year ago, in an effort to put out more content for the Star Wars LCG game, I created a youtube channel and started putting out videos of both casual and tournament games for Star Wars LCG with commentary. After a few guest commentators, Queklaine became my regular partner for commentary.

Queklaine and I  have both recently gotten into Star Wars Destiny and have decided to take a stab at putting out some videos with commentary for Destiny and contributing to the Destiny community and content.

We present our premier, pilot episode of a game played between myself and my good friend Jerry at my house pretty much right after we both got cards.  Let me give a couple disclaimers at this point:

1.  Be warned that our cardpool and playing experience was really limited at this point so the decks are nowhere near what appears to be top tier.   Jerry and I had only played less than 10 games of Destiny when we recorded this game, so keep that in mind when watching our plays.

2.  Finding a good camera position is still a work in progress.  It's a bit difficult to figure out where to put the camera to try to make out the dice.  It's not perfect here, but we think it's acceptable.

3.  Queklaine and I found that it's a bit trickier to do commentary for Destiny than it is for the Star Wars LCG because the actions can go pretty quickly, but we felt like we established a good rhythm as the game wore on, and that should only improve over time as we do more videos.

4.  Since it was our first game with commentary, Queklaine and I tried to go over rules and cards for those people who may be newer to the game than even we are.  We're not Tiny Grimes, but we did want to try to educate people about the game and give insights about plays as much as we could.

5.  I played a Villain team with Bala-Tik. 1 Nightsister and 2 First Order Stormtroopers.  Jerry played a Hero team with Luke Skywalker and Elite Admiral Ackbar.  The complete decklists appear at the end of the video.

Queklaine and I hope to do more Destiny videos for Yoda's Hut.   One thing we have done regularly for the LCG is ask people to suggest decklists and then record games where we play suggested decks.  We plan to do that for Destiny as well, but since neither Queklaine or I have complete sets, we may have to adjust suggested decklists if we don't own certain cards.  If you have deck suggestions you'd like to see play on camera, feel free to post them in this thread for now.

Also, we plan to continue to put out videos for the Star Wars LCG game so if you play that game too or are interested, check them out on the Yoda's Hut youtube channel. https://www.youtube....4tm-rI6tKgPkLTA

We hope people enjoy this first Destiny video from Yoda's Hut.  Comments and suggestions are always welcome, but please keep in mind we're doing this because we enjoy the game and are not attempting put out professional quality videos.  Thanks for watching and giving us a chance.

Yoda's Hut has just added a new episode of Destiny game play.  As usual commentary was done by Quekaline and myself.

In this game I played an Elite Grevious/Count Dooku deck vs. my good friend Jerry who played a Qui-Gon/Rey/Padawan deck.  I had increased my cardpool at this point which made deckbuilding a bit easier although I still didn't have enough of certain things for both Jerry and I to use them.  We still didn't have a lot of game play experience at this point, but I think we were getting better and certainly were able to play at a faster pace.  Queklaine and I also seemed to have a better rhythm for commentary in this second attempt.  The camera position is still a work in progress, but it seems acceptable.

We hope you enjoy watching.  Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks to everyone who's been watching Yoda's Hut.  We appreciate the support.   More videos of both Destiny games and Star Wars LCG games should start coming on a regular basis once we have time to record them, do the commentary and edit the videos.

Checked out both video's, nice job guys.  I look forward to seeing more videos.  I like the aggro Grevious brings, I have 1 grevious and 1 jango right now.  I want to run egrievious/jango, but don't have the second grevious yet, but when I do that's the deck I want to run.  Until then I'm running Bala'tik and 3 troopers.

I don't think you'll ever get the perfect camera angle for the dice, but if you can say the dice in comentary you don't need to see the dice.  You can make them out pretty well as it is, if you place the dice closer to the camera when recording games, the dice should be visable enough :)

Thanks for the tips and comments and thanks for checking out our videos.

I'm going to try to consciously remember to move the dice closer to the camera, but I must admit I've recorded so many games of the LCG and now these few Destiny games over the past year, that I often forget the camera is even there and recording!  Gotta keep that in mind as much as I can even though it's easy to get focused on the game and not realize where the cards and dice are in terms of the viewing area.

New Episode of Yoda's Hut featuring Star Wars Destiny game play is now up.  Queklaine joined me for commentary as usual.

Recently I ventured out to Gamer's Armory in Cary, NC for their Star Wars Game night.  As I expected, most people there were playing Destiny and I got to record several of my games for Yoda's Hut episodes.

In this game, I played against my long-time friendly foe from out at Gamer's Armory, Jeremy.  I was able to make some trades to get more cards I didn't have and also buy a few rares for reasonable prices from someone selling his extras  Because of that, I tweaked my Elite General Grevious/Kylo Ren deck and took on Jeremy's Elite Dooku/Elite Jabba deck.

My decklist was:

Characters:

1x Kylo Ren (10 cost, 11 health)
Elite General Grevious (18 cost, 10 health)

Battlefield:  Separatist Base

Upgrades (15)

2x Force Choke
1x Force Throw
2x Force Training
2x Immobilize
2x Lightsaber
2x Mind Probe
2x Sith Holocron
2x Datapad

Support (2)
1x Hidden in Shadows
1x It Binds All Things

Event (13)
1x Feel Your Anger
2x Force Strike
1x Intimidate
1x Isolation
1x The Power of the Force
2x Use the Force
1x Dug In
2x Tactical Mastery
2x Take Cover

I accidentally forgot to ask Jeremy for his decklist so I unfortunately can't share his exact list although it seemed pretty standards in terms of upgrades and events.

Enjoy watching the game.

Thanks as always to everyone who's be watching Yoda's Hut episodes.  The support is always appreciated. More videos of both Destiny and Star Wars LCG are on the way.  Comments and suggestions welcome.  The camera angle is still a work in progress.

Hey Bill, you know Willpower is a "hero" card, right? Jeremy should not have had Willpower in his Jabba/Dooku "villain" deck, LOL! Thanks for the video, though!

Yeah, I think Queklaine and I realized it during the commentary.  For some reason I just missed it when Jeremy and I were playing.  We had a couple things like that happened that I noticed when we went back to the videos.  I'm still very much new to this game and just didn't realize it at the time.

Nice video - that is a pretty nice light side deck. The commentators seemed to be a little confused how the battlefield works : when you claim, your opponent chooses where the damage goes not you. The players did it correctly, at least.

Thanks for watching.   I was one of the players and one of the commentators.  :)  Sometimes it's easy to accidentally misspeak when you're doing the commentary on the fly and I bet that's what happened.  Plus it's not always easy to tell exactly what each player's actions are during the game since I usually to turn off the audio recording from the actual game play when we're doing the commentary so I don't get distracted by the background noise.

New episode of Yoda's Hut featuring some Star Wars Destiny game play is now up.  This one is between my commentary partner Queklaine and Mitch2480 from the great Pacific Northwest.  Both Queklaine and Mitch2480 have won several Destiny tourneys in their area since the release of the game.  We don't have exact decklists but Queklaine played eVader/Raider and Mitch2480 played eDooku/eKylo.

Enjoy the game.

After a bit of a delay, a new episode of Yoda's Hut featuring Star Wars Destiny game play is now up.  Queklaine joined me for commentary as usual.

In this game I played my good friend Jerry at my house on the day of the Spirit of Rebellion preview events. I was able to attend two events that day and got 6 packs.  We built some decks using some of the new cards just to see how they would do.  Jerry still only has the starter sets so we were basically limited to my pool of cards which is close to a complete Awakenings set, but is still missing some things.

Here are the decklists with a * next to SoR cards.  Yes, I really did manage to pull 2 Vibroknives in my 6 packs.  :)

yodaman's decklist.
