On to the Elimination Round of the 2020 Summer Online Tournament!




Players who make the cut will have until Tuesday August 11, 11:59pm to PM me (MacRauri) and lock in their decklists. We will get those posted for all to see as quickly as possible.

The Elimination Round is single elimination best of 5. During the first round where there is a higher seed, that player may decide which deck to play first. After the first round players will decide the starting deck randomly (except for Player 1A who may decide which deck to start on during their first game in round 2). Games will alternate between decks for the first 4 games. Should a 5th game be needed, the player with more game-points earned during the match may decide if they will play LS or DS in the 5th game. If that is a tie decide randomly.

Feel free to split your games up across multiple nights and report as you go along. Each round should go about a week.

I'm adjusting the GP in game 1 down to 7.  This doesn't change anything from the match, but there is a CAP on the amount of game points you can get from damage on the board.  At most a player can get 3GP as LS from objective damage on the board.  While this wasn't relevant in this match, it did affect the match in the spring elimination round between sdrewthomson and alfguys.

Stan trounced me 3-0, so there's gonna be nothing but scum going forward.

 

In game 1, I got the dial to 6; Stan locked me out of navy money, but really I lost the game because I got so stoked about the possibility of a turn two force storm that I didn't notice Stan would actually lose less from it than I would.

In game 2, I blew up one DS objective and dealt 2 damage to others, for a total of 5 game points. I managed to build a decent board, but Jabba came out to play and rain focus on things, and I still don't know how to play around Guri and Threat Removal.

In game 3, I got the dial to 10, but really the game would've ended earlier if not for Stan's bad luck with Luke piloting Red Five - in two attacks it flipped up a control room and a Quarren. The game-winning card for Stan was actually a Heroic Sacrifice - on my last turn that enabled him to take out my brand new Victory space triangle, so I couldn't take force and couldn't play force storm on his turn. And there was also a clutch edge battle earlier, with Jerec facing down Bren, Red Five and a wilderness fighter; we both went all in on the edge, including an IHYN on each side, but with 15 to 14 Stan had me instead of the other way around, so Jerec died like the chump he is.
