The deck lists are in for the Top 12 cut of the Summer 2020 tourney and, once again, it was interesting to see what would happen with this limited card pool courtesy of Letux.

For LS - 121 objectives are included in total.  One person has decided to use 11 sets, while everyone else is using the typical 10.

These are the number of copies of the objectives that appeared in these 12 LS decks.

Note: An * indicates the set included one of the Champion designed cards that was allowed to be played as a replacement.

Behind Enemy Lines - 11

A Hero's Beginning - 10

Questionable Contacts - 8

Spirit of Rebellion - 8

The Secret of Shantipole - 8

Explosives Artist - 7

Trust in the Force - 7

A Hero's Resolve - 6

Defense of Yavin 4 - 6

Forward Reconnaissance - 5

Honor Among Thieves* - 5

Capital Cover- 4

Desert Recruitment - 4

Draw Their Fire - 4

Mission Briefing* - 4

Bait and Switch - 3

Evacuation Procedure - 3

In You Must Go - 3

The False Report - 3

The Secret of Yavin 4 - 3

Raise the Stakes - 2

Resourceful Survivors - 2

Sacrifice of Endor - 2

Twilight of the Apprentice - 2

Sacrifice of Heroes - 1

Of the 121 LS objectives that appear in Top 12 LS decks.

37.2% are Jedi (45 out of 121)
38.8% are Rebel (47 out of 121)
24.0% are Smugglers (29 out of 121)

0 % are Neutral (0 out of 121)

Also, here's another piece of data I always find interesting.  I compiled the percentage of objectives in each affiliation which appeared in these decks.

81.8% (9 out of 11 available) of Jedi objectives appear in at least one of these 12 LS decks.

90.9% (10 out of 11 available) of Rebel objectives ...............

54.6%  (6 out of 11 available) of Smuggler objectives ...........

0 % (2 out 3 available) of Neutral objectives...

So all total, 25 different LS objectives out of the 36 available appeared in these 15 LS decks.  That's 69.44% of the available LS card pool.

For comparison purposes, in the Spring 2020 online tourney, 73.3% (22 out of 30) of the available LS objectives were used in top cut decks and in the Summer 2020 online tourney, an impressive 86.1% (31 out of 36) of the available card pool was used so there was a bit less variety in that sense in this tournament.

Here's the data about the number of decks that included at least one copy of a set in the deck.

So for example – Behind Enemy Lines appeared at least one time in 7 decks total out of the 12.

Behind Enemy Lines- 7

A Hero's Beginning - 6

Questionable Contacts - 5

The Secret of Shantipole - 5

Draw Their Fire - 4

Explosives Artist - 4

Forward Reconnaissance - 4

Honor Among Thieves* - 4

Spirit of Rebellion- 4

Trust in the Force - 4

A Hero's Resolve - 3

Defense of Yavin 4 - 3

Evacuation Procedure - 3

The False Report - 3

The Secret of Yavin 4- 3

Bait and Switch - 2

Capital Cover - 2

Desert Recruitment - 2

In You Must Go - 2

Mission Briefing* - 2

Resourceful Survivors - 2

Raise the Stakes - 1

Sacrifice of Endor - 1

Sacrifice of Heroes - 1

Twilight of the Apprentice – 1

Only 11 LS sets which were available in this limited format were not included in the Top 12 Cut LS decks.  Those are:

Here's the data for the DS decks in the Top 12 cut of the Fall 2020 Online/Skype tourney.

For DS - 121 objectives are included in total.  One person is using 11 sets and everyone else is using the standard 10 sets.

These are the number of copies of these objectives that appeared in these 12 DS decks.

Note: An * indicates the set included one of the Champion designed cards that was allowed to be played as a replacement.

The Emperor's Shadow - 10

The Emperor's Sword* - 10

The Empire's Elite - 10

Black Squadron Formation - 8

Order of the Inquisitors - 8

Defense Protocol - 7

Dark Counsel - 6

Shadowed Surveillance - 6

Cloud Cover - 5

Blizzard Assault - 4

Cell Block Detention - 4

Out of the Mists - 4

Sector Lockdown - 4

The Second Phase* - 4

Unstoppable Advance - 4

Double-Crossing Droid - 3

Hive of Scum and Villainy - 2

Imperial Entanglements - 2

Jabba's Reach - 2

Nar Shadda Drift - 2

Reinforcements! - 2

The Dark Trooper Project - 2

The Hutt's Menagerie* - 2

The Imperial Bureaucracy - 2

The Reawakening - 2

Automated Assassin - 1

Dark Defenders - 1

Lucrative Contracts - 1

Reconnaissance Mission - 1

Shadows on the Ice - 1

The Best That Credits Can Buy - 1

Of the 121 DS objectives that appear in Top 12  DS decks.

42.2% are Sith (51 out of 121)

36.4% are Navy (44 out of 121)

19.8% are Scum (24 out of 121)

1.6% are Neutral (2 out of 121)

Also, here's another piece of data I always find interesting.  I compiled the percentage of objectives in each affiliation which appeared in these decks.

8.18% (9 out of 11 available) of Sith objectives appear in at least one of these 12  DS decks.

90.9% (10 out of 11 available) of Navy objectives ...............

90.9%  (10 out of 11 available) of Scum objectives ...........

66.7% (2 out of 3 available) of Neutral objectives...........

So all total, 31 different DS objectives out of the 36 available appeared in these DS decks. That's an impressive 86.1%!

For comparison purposes, in the Spring 2020 online tourney, 73.3% (22 out of 30) of the available DS objectives were used in top cut decks.  In the Summer 2020 tourney 58.3% (21 out of 36) were used, so this time there seems to be quite a bit more diversity on DS.

Overall 77.8% (56 out of 72) of the available cardpool ended up being used in the Top 12 decks in the Fall 2020 online tourney.

For comparison purposes,in the Spring 2020 online tourney, 73.3% (44 out of 60) of the available objectives were used in top cut decks, and in the Summer 2020 online tourney 72.2% (52 out of 72) of the available cardpool  ended up being used.  So the overall diversity is a bit higher for this tourney.

Here's the data about the number of decks that included at least one copy of a set in the deck.

So for example – The Emperor's Shadown appeared at least one time in 5 decks total out of the 12.

The Emperor's Shadow - 5

The Emperor's Sword* - 5

The Empire's Elite - 5

Black Squadron Formation - 4

Cloud Cover - 4

Defense Protocol - 4

Order of the Inquisitors - 4

Dark Counsel - 3

Double-Crossing Droid - 3

Shadowed Surveillance - 3

Blizzard Assault - 2

Cell Block Detention - 2

Hive of Scum and Villainy - 2

Out of the Mists - 2

Sector Lockdown - 2

The Hutt's Menagerie* - 2

The Second Phase* - 2

Unstoppable Advance - 2

Automated Assassin - 1

Dark Defenders - 1

Imperial Entanglements - 1

Jabba's Reach - 1

Lucrative Contracts - 1

Nar Shadda Drift - 1

Reconnaissance Mission - 1

Reinforcements! - 1

Shadows on the Ice - 1

The Best That Credits Can Buy - 1

The Dark Trooper Project - 1

The Imperial Bureaucracy - 1

The Reawakening – 1

Only 5 DS sets which were available in this limited format were not included in the Top 12 Cut DS decks.  Those are:

I love these stats! They are so relevant for these limited cardpool tournaments and always fascinating to see. I am most surprised at how close the overall cardpool use percentages are! I thought this tournament would be much higher than last time (instead of just +4 pods)

do you think you could add a section about the champion cards? I would like to know which of the pods actually chose to flex to the replacement and which never did. Any of those pods staying the same totally have my respect (looking at you proton torpedoes)

I can go back and look at the champion card inclusions, but off the top of my head it seemed like most of the time the champion card was an option it was included.

According to the published decklists, it appears my above claim was accurate.  For 4 of the 5 sets where a champion card was an option, everyone appears to have used it.  Those were:

Second Phase - Both Haxxson and DavFlamerock included Vader

Hutt's Menagerie - Both Letux and Kiramode included Aurra

Honor Among Thieves - TNWT, Haxxson, Letux and Donovan all included K-2S0

Mission Briefing - Both SirIvanhoe and Kiramode included Profundity

Emperor's Sword is the only set where it appears some people didn't include the champion card option (It's Beautiful)

TNWT, CoDameron and Donovan all included It's Beautiful

Mattropolois and Bakkhos did NOT include It's Beautiful

I got rid of my cards and haven't played in two years, so I'm not hip to whatever you kids are doing these days, but what happened to make Behind Enemy Lines and the Emperor's Shadow so popular?

Hi Jawbone!

I can't speak for those pods, as I didn't play either, but I know I played against them a ton! They both lean into a much more defensive playstyle, and that is always appealing when you think your opponent wants to attack harder than you can pressure them back.

Winter comes with 2 black tactics, a money, infiltration, and an untap effect. also, a winter who lives can warp games. her pod has always been good if you can support it with enough bombs and units to infiltrate.

Shadow has a lot of similar benefits. the shuttle is a defensive unit with a shield, and its ehancement gives more health and a gun wherever you need it. It trades enhancement denial for event denial, and brings untap in shuttle reaction and well equipped. Also, the card draw from the objective is real and lets you have much better defensive edge hands. I think it is too slow more often than not, but into a slow LS deck, it can make some nice checkmate boards.

Finally, if you're interested, I can make you pod print sheets if you want to play in the winter tournament (starting soon). I did this during the pandemic, so that even though I didnt have my cards, I can print them all out, sleeve them over some old pokemon or magic cards, and win some tournaments. It's really manageable with the limited cardpool.

I will say that I've never found Infiltration to be good as an event (even when played against me, I've been able to handily take the hit and still win) but if I don't have to see another Tactical Genius across the table from me ever again I'll be that much happier. That stupid black tactics always does so much more work against me than it does for me ;_; (Winter and the resource are both excellent as well, it's just a very strong support pod overall)

We clearly need to play more.
