I'll certainly grant you that ST is absolutely loaded at that cost spot, but at the end of the day, a repeatable cancel is just solid.

Ok so if I try to sum up, 4 favorable opinions for August Lindquist in top 10, zero against.
2 suggestions to drop HOST to honorable mention, and I would agree: strong, but no protection against terror or direct wounding (wish it was Lodge itself...).
Confirm George Angell in the honorable.
No reactions for Sigil of Doom, so I understand no one's sharing my enthusiasm on this one ;-p

I added August to top 10, dropping HOST, and added Sergeant Terry to honorable mentions.

August is number 1 in my book. I can see an argument for Ramsdale (certainly not Initiate or (now) Meiger), but... Number 6?
August is the ultimate must-answer, putting Inner Council (maybe the reigning champ) to shame.

I didn't know the top 10 was a specific order. If it was, I'd go
1) BRB
2) August Lindquist
3) Meiger
4) Initiate
5) Master
6) Farrington
7) Carl Stanford (wait, how is he not top 10?)
8) Protector
9) Zanni
10) Doorway
First 3 are hard to order though, but I took the "general way", as in fitting in any deck

August as the ultimate must answer? No way.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding how you're playing him, but he's vulnerable to destruction and at stories all you need to do is match his combat. He's really good, and requires some thought to deal with, but he's hardly a game breaker. I'd put him behind BRB and the Master.

Well, so is, euhm, anything? And matching his combat is hard to do when attacking... (attack with 1 skull, I add another character next to August, attack with more, you lose any character I choose). But yes, I'd put BRB one step ahead of him.
Still he is like ravager, but different and with better icons. And ravager is restricted (silly if you ask me). Yes, August only wounds one character. But he can select ANY character, not only the ones committed to the story.

I agree that he is often a must answer. Have you ever played against him? Just getting into a tie with him isn't always so easy, and will hurt what you want to do as active player committing to stories.
As far as the Silver Twilight faction goes, I agree with Wilbur here. August is a beast.

I'd put Meiger on top, considering how he seems to dominate the 'meta' at the moment. The only other card that is (almost?) as universally useful is BRB. I haven't yet seen August in play. Just from looking at the card, I'm not sure if he's as great as Meiger or BRB. For the rest of the cards, it's really hard to put them in any order. Especially, trying to evaluate how good 'late game cards' are compared to 'early game cards'. A good deck needs both!
