Restricted. (now changed heavily)

When I play Things in the Ground’s triggered
ability to bring characters into play insane, does
willpower or terror icons protect them from being
insane?
No. These characters enter play in an
insane state before Willpower or Terror
Icons can prevent them from going
insane.

FAQ 3.2:

No longer Restricted. !

Things in the Ground (F31)

Should read:

“Exhaust and sacrifice

Things in the Ground...”
What happens if this effect would put a duplicate of a unique character into play? Does the duplicate just stay on top of the player's deck, or does it get discarded? Anyone know?

For this effect, I am pretty certain they are discarded. The first effect discards them, the second is a replacement effect that changes the discard effect into a put into play effect. But in this case, the replacement effect would be illegal and thus fizzle, leaving the cards being discarded as per the original effect.
