Doorway can allow character to "tank" C struggle and escape at the same time. Doorway fires after character was chosen but before he recives wound. Similarly for other kind of such effects.

Man, I just realized I need this card in a deck I just built and haven't yet played. I'll be swapping it in for T'tka Halot, since the deck doesn't really work the Tome front anyhow. It does, however, plan stunts around Ritual of Exclusion, which The Doorway primes sweetly.
It also allows for triggering the Black Stone on demand, blanking obnoxious text box effects.
A tremendous way to bounce characters back to your hand with enter (or leave) play effects, so long as you send them into a story.
BRB, Victoria Glasser, Many-angled Thing, Obsessive Zealot, Roald Elseworth, Hungry Dark Young, just to name a few.
Also resets the fated count on ST staples like B Ramsdale and August Lindquist
Very useful and versatile card.
Yes, it means this effect, where applicable, can disrupt Khopesh's.
If Khopesh tried to wound one of your characters, that was committed to a story, you could use this to have the character return to your hand before Khopesh could resolve, and thus prevent the Khopesh wound resolving. So in that sense it cancels Khopesh. In this scenario, the Khopesh would still have wounded the character it was attached too.
Oh, that's evil.
I don't think the Doorway and Khopesh work together in the same way any longer (in the case where you have both in the same deck). Since the post that the link above refers to, Khopesh has been errata'd to have the wound to your character be a part of the cost, not just a part of the action. Therefore, if you use The Doorway to bring the character back to hand, you will not get to resolve the remainder of the effect and wound your opponents character.
This is similar to the ruling on Toxemia (prior to it's errata)...If you canceled the wound for committing to stories, the cost has not been paid, and you cannot commit to stories.
I agree with you tdnordine. That was my assumption in my original question, and RP basically confirmed it. I have the Doorway in that deck for the benefit of other cards like Mariner, Swimming in the Deep, and Burden Bearer, and the fact that Flooded Vault can fetch it for free before stories start, allowing one of my guys to make a surprise getaway. It wasn't really my intention that the Doorway and Khopesh have much synergy.
