IMO, this guy does yeoman's work in any ST deck.  Not a sexy card by any means, but he's the grunt that runs the engine, the guy that does the dirty work so the rest of the deck can shine.  Every good band needs a solid bass player, and that's the Librarian.  4/5 stars for me.

It is an interesting card, but has yet to find it's way into a deck for me.  The 3 cost slot for ST is so full of excellent characters that I haven't found room for him.

If you have something that rewards you for discarding, or you have cards that want to be in the discard pile (Yog), then he might be good. But the 3-cost spot is very competitive in ST and his icons aren't great, so just using his power for deck tuning has him seem weak compared to the other choices.

Agreed. I'm running him in a deck with Call the Custodes, Ritual of Exclusion, and T'tka Halot, so I'm using him to pad my discard pile, mostly with "comes into play" guys for the Custodes. But he's also good with other cards like Jon Scott, Senator Nathaniel Rhodes, Ritual of the Construct, and so on. I can't bear to use Unbound, Groundskeeper, and Wealthy Sponsor because they're SO inefficient. ST discard doesn't get anymore efficient than the Librarian.
