Just double checking, and I'm sure this is a silly question, but want to make sure I understand the card correctly.
The response window for this is when A (singular) Character commits to a story. Once this card is played, they must discard 1 success token from the story they committed too, or discard a card. However this card doesn't "target" anything directly, and commits are all done at once.

So does this mean if they commit 4 characters to 3 stories, say 2-1-1, this event hits all 3? Thus they must discard 2-1-1 success tokens or any variation possible from 1-5 cards / or success tokens?

The lack of any targeting on this card is making me curious how this effects the board state when its played and what it all effects

I'm pretty sure it's just 1 card as it doesn't say "for each character".  So it just triggers off any character having committed and only happens once, but the lack of targeting does make it super confusing.  I think you're supposed to say which character you're responding to when you play it and that's how it is decided.

Yeah see, it seems simple until you actually think of applying the card.

The lack of "each character" makes sense to me though, eliminating the ultra powerful scenario of the card, but if they commit 1 character to each story? Still vaguely worded =/
