In this case the what if is based around the idea of Beric Dondarrion having joined the Greyjoys and their subsequent aiding his battles/raids in the Riverlands. The deck itself has focuses on saving, keeping Beric flush with power (winning or losing with Taste for Blood), and discarding things from an opponents hand. The plots are arranged to yield even more saving by triggering Before the Black Walls many times in order to make opponents really question whether they want to do military challenges. On the whole the deck is quite useable & fun in both joust and melee as navigating saves, river shenanigans & Beric is quite enjoyable. As for counters, the easiest/most effective one i've seen is any Baratheon deck that can consistently keep alive/out the core Melissandre which negates all of Beric's power. The deck doesn't have targeted kill/way to really keep her out of the picture aside from just discarding her again & again from an opponent's hand. CC-BY-3.0 |
