The idea is to just dominate the challenge phase, first and foremost military challenges, with raised claim, hopefully overcommitting my opponent and leaving him less room to for the other challenges. Epic Battles for some additional board destruction. Very non-tool-boxy deck, just a tad of kneel. A bit of tool-boxyness in some of the plots. Still experimenting with those, but I might exchange one or two for some 2-claim plots down the road.

An earlier but similar build (didn't have latest chapter pack) did reasonably well in our custom 2 vs 2 games that my friends and I play. The ability to attack and defend while knelt is really powerful. Tested this current build yesterday against a friend (he played a Stark/Night's Watch deck, but he gave up into the second run after a terrible setup when it became clear he wouldn't be able to get into the game because I would just destroy his board (He was already frustrated after losing with Martell against my Baratheon/Shadows deck; will post it soon as well). So I don't have proper data yet. I don't think it's that competitive against many decks, but it's a fun deck to play, which is most important to me.

Im surprised your not using the attachment Vale Scavenger just because you could trigger it to increase the cards in your opponents hands so your can trigger Ill Begotten Spoils and the Burned Men

at least thats how a Clansman deck worked for me in a melee game. i used Golden Tooth mines to get a decent setup and than triggered 2 vale attachments to put me under my opponents cards in hand attacked with Burned men and ill Begotten Spoils while the Retaliation plot was out and claimed 4 power, than used to be a lion stood the burned men, attacked for military and killed all his characters on the board.

i think clansman is a much better melee deck than joust and i was really surprised at how well it worked out for me

Im surprised your playing Vale Pass, i just dont think i would ever really use it, but i can see the advantage of having it as an option, especially with a lesser charctrer like refugee or son of the mist.

Re: Vale Scavenger - so far I haven't had any trouble keeping my hand smaller than my opponents. I think it would be a neat card in the 2v2 format that we play in my group, as I could use it on my team mate, but so far I just find the other attachments I'm playing more valuable.

I've used Hidden Vale Pass a couple of times already. It has your opponent wondering whether you might add another attacker to the challenge, potentially having them overcommit characters, or you just catch them at unawares and manage to push a critical challenge through; I would even put the Burned Men into a challenge for a surprise claim bump.
Very nice, i really need to work Castellan into my deck, even at once a round that is pretty nice. I also like the greedy councillors coupled with golden tooth vaults, in my head i see those playing out nicely

I'll comment more after I see how these clansman cards play out today, maybe get some more ideas

Yeah, Greedy Councilor is my go-to discard card - works out nicely. :)
I'm curious about Valar Dohaeris (TWH), It doesn't seem like it will be of much use. Your opponent should be able to easily play around it. I'd make the same suggestion to add Fear of Winter (BtW) as I did with Allen's deck. Given your ability to manipulate your and your opponents hand , Fear of Winter should allow you to preserve your card disadvantage for an extra turn and slow down your opponent in the process.

Valar Dohaeris (TWH) is mainly for when I get an Epic Battle out. Fear of Winter (BtW) is not a bad idea either. I'm still experimenting with plots, so I might give it a whirl next time.
Hey Saturn, had some pretty good luck with the clans deck, the not being able to be killed was awesome. Mine was unfortunately didnt have enough umph to win with Darksbane just obliterating our third player. Survivability very high.
I think the plot relentless persecution was by far the best plot I played, definitely a keeper for this setup.
You'll likely have better luck since your pushing a bit more military than I was. Let me know how it works for you

Glad you're enjoying your Clansman deck. I've been having fun with mine so far. I'll probably play it tomorrow in a 3-player game, I'll write here how it went.

Played the deck yesterday, and it run well until I hit a will in about round 4. It was a 3 player game and I had acquired 10 or 11 power. But then I couldn't keep going against two opponents who did not have power on their house cards (one was running a Targ/Brotherhood deck, and the other a Baratheon of which we'd leeched power). Baratheon had a CCG Vale of Arryn out (raises claim by two during power challenges for all player) and they just pummeled me. I don't really blame the deck, but I think it could use one or two more control elements (some location hate would be neat). Any suggestions?
Wish I had something to offer on this one, I'm still in discovery phase for the most part. Maybe Darksbane can lend his .02
Targ/brotherhood sounds like fun too !
Condemned by the Council (AToT) is likely your best bet for location hate if you can sneak through an Int challenge. Otherwise The Price of War (KotS) is kind of an option. I don't know that either would be worth the deck space though.
