Interesting lannister maester deck, a lot of chains, but good job on the deck

Thank you. I misunderstood Forgin the Chain at first glance and swapped it out for City of Soldiers.

Does bay of ice work that often with the low initiative plots you have?

I have dabbled with a Lannister Maester deck, and although different to yours, I found it interesting. Hopefully I can share some of my experiences, as well as hope for more of an insight into some of your choices.

First of all, why City of Spiders? You won't be able to repeat At the Gates, as because it is in your used pile and At the Gates requires you to have no City plot in your used pile. As such, even with City of Soldiers it won't be that amazing. The only thing I can think of is where pre-plot you kneel a maester with Lead Link and enough other chains to make someone Str 1, so they die to City of Soldiers, and then Str 2 for City of Spiders later on.

For your characters, why so many of them being 2 copies? For the uniques, either they should be important enough that you need 3 copies, or just 1 copy. In the case of Marwyn, as you would want him to die, I would recommend drop him down to 1 copy. For the non-uniques, I can't see a major reason why you won't want 3 copies of them.

Due to Outwit and Schemes of the Scholar, what do you think of Tyrion Lannister (Core), as he is Learned? Plus, he can help with card draw if not enough of the other sources have turned up. On a related note, are Maester Creylen (FtC) and Qyburn (SaS) not included for any reason? Creylen is also Learned, and Qyburn can let you borrow a useful character of theirs who has died, ideally someone with Renown when it will cause you to win that turn.

I would advise against Crossroads. I imagine it is because of owning a small card pool, and there not being many options for increasing income. You need two turns of Crossroads just to break even. Otherwise, other cost reducers would be more beneficial, as they are 0 cost to help setup, and aside from River Row, can be used the turn you play them.

As your chains count towards your deck size when constructing, you can make a 60 card deck including them, and then because they will attach to your agenda at the start of the game, it means you have trimmed your deck by a sixth, before setup. As such, you may wish to trim down some of the events, and possibly locations too. Maybe even a chain or two, as some of them aren't that useful in my opinion.

Due to having cards and plots that mean you won't be kneeling for Intrigue challenges from time to time, perhaps Myrcella Lannister (LotR) could be added, for an additional challenge. Combine it with Schemes and Cersei with a couple of Conclave out, and it could be a great power rush for you!

I imagine it is to combine with Cersei's Wheelhouse, so the opponent will always lose due to being Initiative 0. Personally, I think it won't happen enough, and one of them won't turn up to make it worthwhile most games. Plus, with the amount of draw the deck can do, it will become redundant very quickly.

Sloth: It is more of a combination of Bay of Ice and Cersie's Wheelhouse which reduces opponents initiative to zero.

The plots are different in my finished deck. I only accidently submitted this (I foolishly clicked a button I didnt use). At the Gates is intended to be used with City of Soldiers.

Having two copies of uniques is just a quirk for most of my decks, I have been doing it since I have started building decks and it is rarely an issue for me.

Maester Creylen is included in the completed deck. Like I mentioned earlier, I accidently submitted this and I have the finished copy saved. The actual deck has two Maester Creylyn and two less crossroads. Tyion is not in my deck in favor of having more characters with military icons, where this deck was lacking.

In past chain decks I have counted my chains to my deck size, but I find having more cards to choose from when they are attached is sometimes better than the smaller deck advantage. Again, it is a personal preference, like with the 2 copies of uniques.

I will be honest, Mycella was not something I thought of. Beyond Maester characters, for the most part I was looking for characters with military icons.

And as per your responce to Sloth, I prefer to have extra draw when I don't need it, then not having and draw when I do need it. Playing Lanni, I am not worried about a lack of resouces.
