In short, use the River plots and Summer tech to get swamped in card and resource advantage. Play Ghaston and Nobles, bounce half of your stuff to bounce all of their stuff. Profit. It has some weaknesses. The obvious one is Winter, particularly Song of Ice but Kings of Winter too. Additionally it has no location or attachment control in the entire deck. Finally, any deck relying on low-STR nobles is highly vulnerable to burn, though the Bannermen certainly help offset this. My first change would be to cut Doran's Scheme, I didn't play it once all day. Maybe change it for Song of Summer to help afford the Bannermen in a pinch and make it possible to survive a Threat from the North turn? Credit to Alex Hynes for the name. Because they bounce in summer. His backup deckname was Breasts. |

I like this old school build. Although Spy from Starfall has been a bomb in my other Martell decks, hard to go anywhere without her.
Cool to see a deck that doesn't find room for Valar Morghulis and yet is still clearly effective.
I presume the right order is
Bridge/Palace
Ford
Bridge/Palace
Ny Sar
with Scheme and Spears played wherever you need it, presumably after the 4 rivers normally, and Ravens on turn 1 or 2 if you need it and haven't drawn the raven?
Also glad to see 2 Samwells by 6 Ravens, which is the proportion I've been settling on in my seasonal decks.
Depending on how much gold I had, what setup, etc., usually determined if I played Ravens or Shores first. Bridge was the last river since that one can copy any river not just the top one, so you get to hit up Crossing three times instead of two. Sorrows in between Crossing and Bridge most times, and as you said Spears whenever needed. And Scheme never as it turns out, it was useless and unplayed all day!
Waiting for the report.
I'm thinking more that its a way to turn 1 gold into +1 card in the Marshalling phase. Given the speed the deck adds cards to hand, it seems pretty probable that Sam will be in play pretty fast, and this helps maintain the card advantage.
Plus, increasing the odds of not having to play Time of Ravens (and thus playing a River instead) is definitely worthwhile.
I fear in my meta I can find a few song of ice decks... do you think a deck with same "spirit" but using Quentyn charagenda instead of kings of summer will work just as well (or at least similar)?
TR still coming btw, will be in the next week or so I promise!
FINALLY put the tourney report up, long after relevance and memories of the event.
