Why wouldn't you include the best Maesters available in your deck? The Maester convention does just that.

HoD for Dorne makes all the Maesters cheaper. Hollow Hill and Sam + Oldtown raven can help you hit the draw cap and play a stupid amount of cards in the first turn or 2. Negotiations refills my hand.

You never know when you'll need one of the cancel cards, but they are great at making sure your Citadel Law goes off without a hitch. Most of the time I can get 1 extra plot via Citadel Law by or on turn 3 and seal the game. This is one the few decks I've played that can outrush Bara Knights/TLV.

I like the idea, but does playing all the out-of-house Maesters for +1G benefit you? I see the Hollow Hill, but is it active for very long? Also, with the number of A City Besieged (CD) and Battle for the Shield Islands (TGF) running around, if you lose Dorne do you basically lose the game?

If I get one of the 3 Oldtown Raven (TIoR), I don't have to pay any OOH penalty. I love kneeling Dorne and Oldtown Raven to drop Wendamyr OOH for 0 gold with several Learned characters on the board... and if Hollow Hill is out, I draw a card.

City Besieged won't hit me till plot 4 and I hope to have a big enough board presence by that point that it wouldn't matter. Battle for the Shield Islands could be bad, but so far the Greyjoys and Starks running that effect have lost intrigue challenges to me in the Epic phase so I stole it back.

Search and Detain on Turn 1 can ruin your day. However in that game I had put in Valar Morguhlis for A Time for Ravens. Thus, I was able to Citadel Law (MotA) into The Art of Seduction (LotR) on turn 1, sacrifice Archmaester Marwyn (MotA) to trigger it again on turn 2. Valar on Turn 3 (saving my Conclave via Maester Lomys (CbtC)) and win turn 4. Admittedly, this was luck, but it let me know I don't have to give up if I lose Dorne.

The Raven is really good! I hadn't read the card text that closely, but with Dorne reducing ALL maesters by 1 for the marshalling phase and Raven effectively reducing Maesters by 3 . . . that's crazy! I'm not sure you even need House of Dreams for Dorne? Would 5 gold and a different (or no) agenda be a better setup for you?

I hadn't really thought about it. Going with all the 0 and 1 cost cards, I can often setup 4 cards not counting Dorne and then storm out of the gate.

Can you think of a good agenda to try while keeping The Conclave (CbtC) as my Restricted card?
With all the card draw and search . . . add 15 cards and play Long Voyage? :unsure:
Another option, with all the unique characters is maybe Quentyn Martell (VD)?

Nevermind, you'd be better with NO agenda than those options.

I played a deck very similar to this and had a blast. I really loved it. I played it before the FAQ and haven't tried to rebuild it because it was absolutely devastated by it. Lol. This looks like a very good update since the FAQ. I always have a difficult time debating between TMP and The Conclave. Personally I'd go TMP just to reduce the amount of cards in your deck, raise the odds of getting your oldtown ravens or Samwell for set up. Either way it's a fun deck to play. Let me know how it goes! My favorite is using Luwin to get all the events for Martell especially during a To the Spears round.

This deck is near unbeatable. Save for a good Westeros Bleeds. He has answers for just about everything. I loved playing against this one.
I was interested to know what you would swap Negotiations at the Great Sept for in Joust? And what you would swap The Art of Seduction for in Melee?

I was think possibly Bungled Orders or Forgotten Plans for the Melee swap. As for the Joust swap i cant think of a plot card that could even come close to refilling your hand!
