Usually play Stark but decided to give a Martell deck a try. Kinda thrown this together on my lunch so would appreciate some input on what works and what doesnt as we dont even have any Martell players in my meta for comparison.\\n\\nIdea is I have a ton of control and a ton of card draw so I can draw the few chars I have out and either control my opponents challenges or punish them for winning and then if things go badly use westeros bleeds to clear the board and the princes plans to bring anything back I need\\n\\nThanks\\n\\nMike

nice attitude lukosanthropos!anyway...

you need more characters,4-6 more in fact.ellaria,high septon,the new quentyn,some claim fodder...your choice.you definitely need to work on your plots.rule by decree and/or negotiations at the high sept are must.swap either with loyalty.also lose wildfire for valar.you may have to even the field on your first plot and wildfire doesnt do that.

I play something similar to this except for the fact that i run more draw/search abilities. He doesn't need to run more characters, i'd just re do the characters to be more draw/search focused. I personally play 20 characters and i was having a hard time not playing more characters to the board then my opponent. He should be perfectly fine to be honest. However, my build uses a bit more recursion then his, so....


I do think you don't need to play Taste For Blood. You only have one character that is going to be relatively safe to put it on and even then, its still a risk. The problem with Taste For Blood in a deck like this is that it makes you not want to Bleed the Board because you don't want to lose that character with all that power on it. Because of this, you lose control of the game and thus lose the character later on. Its a good card, just not for this build of a deck. Also, Burning On The Sand and Gentle Prison are counter productive to Taste For Blood
Thanks for the advice guys. Taken the taste for bloods out and put a couple of copies of nightmares in and a copy of ellaria. Gonna play test it a bit and if there isnt enough draw/search will add some heralds

Yeah, that was my problem with it as well. I think about it but early game to late game, its easy to have 8 to 16 cards in hand. Its only around plot 6 to 8 that you can be low in cards and by that time, you should be pushing for the win with To The Spears and all your renown characters. This is also the reason why i don't feel like Rule By Decree belongs in this deck. Its to easy to have 13 cards in hand after the first turn of the game if you got a Fleabottom and First snow on the first turn of the game.
