The idea is to get Beric out (possibly Summoning Season), Voltron (load tons of attachments on him) him up and protect him (Plots like Calm Before the Storm and Doran's Scheme, as well as events like Paper Shield and He calls it thinking will help with this). Of course you can always win in other ways and there is plenty to help you do that ![]() |

Sorry my noob question, but If Red Viper is attacking and the opponent's have less characters than you, can I initiate 3 types conflicts without kneel, one military, one intrigue and one power without knelling? (sorry my english)
If they have less or equal, the Viper will kneel to attack, so the only way you will get multiple challenges out of him is with standing (or non kneel to attack plot).
Fun trick: Doran's Favour + Beric = easy 4 influence for Westeros Bleeds, leaving just beric behind.
That said, my first and only tourney experience so far pretty much resulted in a royal tanking because this combo worked so much better on octgn than it does in real life. That deck had plenty of tricks: Flea Bottom Scavengers, Westeros Bleeds, Taste for Blood. Plotwise, I was running both To The Spears and Prince that Was Promised.
The problem is that when you play in a tourney, silver bullets for one trick pony decks are pretty much de rigeur. I lost a game to Mel's Favour, and lost a game to Ygritte in a Bara Black Sails and Greyjoy Black Sails respectively. Then I lost a game to pbtt who managed to A House Divided my Beric from his own card coming into play, then discard it from a 10 card hand in the next challenge phase. And lost a game to the tourney's winning deck when I got locked into a challenge with Brienne, blanked by Meera and then killed for Claim. The one game I won I did so getting a LOT of power in one turn from a non-kneeling voltroned up Beric.
All in all, that tourney experience taught me a great deal about deckbuilding, and taught me you can't put all your eggs in one basket. That sort of clever janky combo deck works really well on octgn, where everyone is trying out off the wall ideas, but fails entirely in a tourney where everyone is playing efficiently as possible and carrying as many answers as possible.
In short, Martell Brotherhood looks awesome, but is too easily countered with common counters.
If you are going to run it, I'd suggest that you carry way more cancels than you have:
3 x HCIT, and 3 x Paper Shield, for sure, but also 3 x Harrenhal, 3 x Royal Decree, and maybe more cancels beyond even that. When one ability can shut your game down you need to have cancels coming out of your ears.
