The Conclave isn't restricted in melee? Jesus.

It is, but it was my only restricted - Orphan and Refugee aren't restricted in Melee.

Looking to make a similar deck (copying this basically) anything you'd change? Or did everything flow smoothly. I know you got 1st, but just wondering if anything was expendable...
One thing I cut was Nightmares. That almost backfired in just about every game. I'm intending to do a full tourney report sometime (tomorrow, perhaps?), but in short, every single round there was a card that would've made my game a lot easier if I could've blanked it. The final in particular, a King Balon's Host almost ruined my day. I'd also consider cutting at least one copy of Leyton, maybe both. I know a couple of people told me I was crazy for including neither Ellaria nor Arianne, so I guess they're both reasonable includes too?
leyton protect maester from Incinerate and/or burn...
why don't you use Citadel Custom over Citadel Politics?
Citadel Politics is limited to 1 x phase…
Yup, that's why I put Leyton in to begin with, but in the end there were no burn decks at the tournament.

I went with Politics over Custom simply because the former synergised better with Schemes of the Scholar, and I didn't want to include too many events in the deck to ensure I got the best setups I could do. If you feel comfortable running more events then Custom is an easy include, for sure.
(in my meta there's a strong Dothraki deck with incinerate, flame kissed,... but no Balon's Host)

I'll think a mix of the two (politics and custom) to maintain the same number of events.

Hope to read the report soon (sorry for bad english... i'm italian!)

I wish you had cut Outwit!

ehi guys! the report??? ;)
Why Noyne?
Report's been delayed, will go up Monday with any luck. Noyne was for setups and 'cause it's nice in Melee to set opponents at each other's throats, entirely non-essential though.
This deck is good. I'm thinking of making room for Shores of the Summer Sea, by making room for I mean replace Noyne. As hilarious as Noyne is, it doesn't really do anything, and Shores might.
i took this to worlds for the melee.
i had little practice with this deck.
I went 3-0 in the prelimins and was 2nd overall.
at the top 16 table when i grabbed a conclave for the summoning season, all three players instantly recognized the deck and dismantled me,

very good deck!!

I know his is from a while ago - but was just wondering what is the point of Walder Frey?
Seems like you are unlikely to win initiative frequently, so most of the time won't he just participating in a challenge between two of your opponents?
Why is that helpful?
For the record, the version I took to Top 16th (5th) at Stahleck had

Plot deck
- Valar Morghulis
+ Game of Thrones

Draw deck
-1 Palace fountains
- 1 Citadel Politics
- 2 We Light the Way
- 1 Walder Frey
- 1 Noyne
-1 Leyton Hightower
+1 Dornish Paramour
+1 Arianne Martell (Kingsguard)
+1 Ellaria Sand (Princes of the Sun)
+1 The Red Viper (A poisoned spear)
+1 Informed Acolyte
+2 He Calls it Thinking

He was in there for a couple of fairly flimsy reasons - firstly, because he's a 0 cost claimsoak body that's great for setup, secondly, he's just generally hilarious in Melee, and thirdly if a Red Wedding happens early he can be a very helpful body to have if someone wants to kill a Cersei or Mel, because he's an unthreatening Lord ;). He's certainly far from essential to the deck though.

Now that To the Spears is restricted Melee would you keep that or the Conclave?

Conclave, there are other ways to get them not kneeling (Game of Thrones, Schemes of the Scholar, maybe even We Light the Way), so the plot is less valuable - it just means you're less likely to get the military challenge, but that was least-important anyway.

JC, as amazing as melee Myrcella is, do you think its worth focusing on GoT as your flip-to plot, and using the other Myrcella to give one of your renown knights an eyeball? Since that would give you Gerris, either Archibald or Cletus, and three conclaves on your burst turn.

Given that, do you think it's possible to ease the new Elia into this, or do you think its unlikely to have fewer characters than an opponent with this particular deck in Melee?

The first paragraph makes absolute sense to me. Second one, in my experience this deck floods characters like nobody's business so it could be tough to reliably trigger, but if your meta has lots of characters on melee tables I'd consider it for sure.
