The idea here is to make it really unattractive to attack me. I know I have a few too many cards, and this is my first real melee deck, so any advice appreciated.

I love melee decks, my advice would be that you have too many events, condemed, he calls it thinking and Secret Alliance seem unneeded, also if your in the mood to really mess up your opponents gameplans run Favorable Ground, you only have 4 locations it would hit and turn 2 or 3 it could really pay dividends

You only have 5 cards that go into Shadows so I'd drop the Southron Mercs. With only 3 shadow cards, you definitely don't need City of Lies. I see you like draw, so I'd consider adding At the Gates with an Informed Acolyte. Or, if you dropped the Venomous Blade too... Manning the City Walls with The Vipers Bannermen. That 7 strength Army could maximize your Blood for Bloods. Finally, since you can only have 1 VM per plot deck, A City Besieged would round out the plot deck nicely.

To begin with I think you're approaching melee wrong, you are focusing on board position (blood for blood, condemned by the council, art of seduction etc.) and board position just really isn't that important in melee. Also, 2x Valar Morghulis is illegal.

You mention that this is your first deck for melee, I'd suggest a much more basic deck, shove as much neutral and Martell renown into the deck as you can along with 12 locations that produce resources, and just a bit of control, and try that out. As you get more used to the format, then try building something like this that has a more controlling aspect to it.
