The military build is obvious because of The Siege of Winterfell, anyway this deck is designed to have a slight intrigue defense (and offense since you might want to put out Sansa Stark during the first round and discard up to 4 cards from a player's hand with the Focused Offense plot card). Power defense is guaranteed with Eddard Stark (beware of stealth though). The rest is quite clear and everyting is in great synergy, Rickon, Wolf Dreams, Plot Cards, Sansa+Attachments = easy draw, Robb and so on. it is possible to use the Low Robb Stark as well (adding 1 crown of winter and taking off something else), this is just a personal way of playing. I miss many other important stuff, but I have already said enough XD.

I'd swap Respect of the Old Gods for either Retaliation or The Winds of Winter. Focused Offence has to big of a drawback for my taste - not being able to declare defenders, that's three possible unopposed challenges.
An interesting deck :)

Yeah I'd swap it with the winds of winter too...but I don't have it XD...as for focused offense I thought the same as you, but I tried to put it in my plot deck and it worked surprisingly well...a lot of times I get to use it at the very beginning with sansa stark and winter is coming...no one espects a direwolf deck to discard 4 cards during round 1...trust me...it's amazing...(of course there are times in which it might be selfdestructive). Anyway the direwolf deck copes with the inability to declare defenders because of shaggydog+direwolves+greywind+at night they howl...so defenders are optional at times XD

I love Focused Offense for my Direwolves. 3 Claim value is great. And if you manage to win the initiative, then it can almost clear the field.

Exactly, I think it's awsome.
It's actually a decent plot card, given you can win initiative. 4 Gold is respectable, since Stark is always Gold poor and it seems like Direwolf especially eats gold left and right. 4 Initiative is decent, not great, but there's a good chance that you can win Init and go first.

But it's the 3 Claim value that makes it good.

It is better if played against someone whose plot cards you know or you are able to predict because of his deck build...so you can use it when you know he will put out less initiative...the drawbacks are still bad but the direwolves can eat the attackers...it's a good compromise.
Yeah. And you're fooling yourself if you think Direwolf is a heavily competitive theme. In Joust, against the right opponents, it's a beast. In my meta, it eats decks alive. But against either my wife's Lanni Intrigue/Gold Manip. or her Clansmen deck, it get's slaughtered. They are decks out there that can out perform it. You should take a look at the one I posted a few weeks back and see what you think.

Yeah there are bettere themes. For Stark builds Tullys are way stronger in my opinion. Anyway I only play joust, and up to now I think direwolves are not as bad as it is thought, with the right countermeasures, (the last river, bear island, the winds of winter and etc)...p.s. what's the name of your deck ? I'll go take a look :)
Yeah. At first, I thought I would really like the Direwolf theme. But the more I play, the more I don't. And I'm even beginning to shift away from Stark and more towards Baratheon.

You shouldjoin the ones who have and will keep the IRON throne....

Lannister **HEAR ME ROAR**
Nope. That's the wife's faction. Targ and Greyjoy are out for the same reason.

uahauhauahauah....BenStark you do the same as me and my girlfriend...the house-sharing thing XD...The difference is I have Stark, Greyjoy and Martell...my girlfriend the rest. I do really like a good dragon deck though...sometimes I use Targaryens for this reason. Baratheon, on the other hand, is my least choice...
Occasionally, I'll break out her Targ or Lanni decks. The Greyjoy deck is kinda meh right now. I've got Stark, Bara, and Martell. It gives each of us a variety of playing styles to work with.
