Basically, the idea is to use the Maester and Dragon traits, and use cards such as Blood of the Dragon, Rhaegar's Harp and the Apprentice Collar to give as many characters those traits as possible.

Put any chain attachment of which there are more than one of on the agenda card at the start (including a collar). Use the harp to make a maester into a dragon/creature in order to stand him with 'At Night They Howl' and to avoid Balerion's effect.

I have had real trouble with the locations here.

I would ideally like people to tell me exactly what the problems are with this deck. Do not fear hurting my feelings - I have basically started playing with a group, and been allocated House Targaryen (and Stark as my second deck). I am by far the least experienced player and have tried to come up with a deck that seems fun and encompassing some of the cards I hope to buy soon. So be ruthless! Better this deck gets torn apart here than I make an ass of myself at our first game night...

NB - our agreed house rules state that we will use the rules printed on a card and NOT the errata unless a particular card seems broken in our opinions. This will prevent us from having to keep stopping and starting the game to check the rules unless it starts seriously impacting our enjoyment of the game.

personally i would run more gold Producing locations. and would put more dragons in the deck. at least 2 copys of each of the dragons. you could reduce the ammount of chais yo uhave in the deck by a few. I would also look at removing Viserys Targaryen (KotS) x2 and plya the core version as he is a save for the deck as well as Maester Amon who can kneel to save a nights watch character from being killed (he is nights watch.)

Also the event Maegis promiseto get a character from Dead Pile back to hand

Thanks for the advice! I agree about the locations, and I'm going to take a serious look at the chains to see what I should remove. I fear I'm currently including so many just because I have them and feel they 'should' be there, but instead I should focus on which ones compliment the rest of my deck.

I included Viserys due to his power that means the more attachments on him the less power is required to win the game. I hoped that by making him a Maester I could lower the power required to win by stacking chains on him. However, if I indend to do this I should probably include some kind of protection for him like bodyguard? Though, if I use the harp, kneeling Aemon as you said would work too. However, if you don't think this Viserys would work for some reason, that's fine, let me know!

I really do like the Aemon card and feel bad that I forgot him. I'll be sure to revise it with him included! Great card. I'll take a look at Maegis Promise too, thank you for the kind advice!

I've been advised to take out Benjen. As this deck is quite focused on killing off other player's characters, Benjen's effect would most likely help them more than it helps me (as much as I do love Benjen...)
One thing seriously, you can't have five copies of Daenerys within a deck, no matter how you love her. Even they are in two different versions, it breaks the fundamental rules.
You get to know whether you want to build a dragon-focus or maester-focus deck. At this point, it's a maester deck for sure but your event cards are crappy. Your purpose is clear, but remember that the trait combo is not always stable.

Ahh, right, I didn't realise that it's the name that matters, not the cards - I thought I'd be able to have 5 as they are different.

No problem, that actually makes my task of whittling down what I have a little easier! Think I'll go with QoD Dany as not kneeling to attack with my hardest hitters makes more sense than giving *some* of my characters a small bonus they probably won't even need.

Any advice on what to do with the event cards would be helpful. I liked the idea of "At night they Howl" as, after using the harp to make a non-maester able to use the links, he will also be a creature and thus able to stand (and, when I use Aemon, they will also be night's watch so he will be able to save them, AND immune to Balerion's play effect due to being dragons).

Also, think I should include a card I got in the core set - I think it is 'kissed by flame'? It seems to go pretty well with the Fury of the Dragon plot card (considering I'll be using this deck against some using either Baratheon/Lannister and someone playing Greyjoy/Martell...).
