Use Kingsguard Squire or Meereenese Fighting Pits to stand maesters for extra chain usage and of course oldtown advisors to help cancel those events you hate to see like WB.

Blood magic ritual gives the get a nice resilience and nightmares can be used to prevent several of the standard counters (Murur and The Iron Throne) to the combo for a turn.

Wow another win? :) Congrats! What made you play this deck this time?
Congrats on the win.

I felt like the meta had moved to a very agro focus and one of the best counters to agro is combo since argo normally has few of the tools required to disrupt it. The amount of TLV in the current environment only adds to the difficulty of many decks finding the 1x or 2x solution they may have. Finlay, i felt that several of the new cards in the environment really added to this archtype which i had taken to GenCon almost a year ago so i wanted to give it a go.

O and i needed to find a house and agenda i had not taken to a tournament yet and this easily fit both requirements.

Good stuff - I haven't messed around with MP much yet so trying to absorb a lot of info. Do you usually pull Marwyn if he's not in your hand? Also, am I right in thinking you probably put the gold link and valyrian steel link on two different maesters?
NICE ONE!

You can put them on a single character. Maester Aemon/Marwin are best (autosave/Belwas save). Both are once per phase but but need more chains to kick-in. Use the depending on You needs. You need either gold to play characters You have on Your hand or cards to draw them. Get gold in plot/marshalling or cards in challenges.
I was wondering how the Kingsguard Squire and Pits stands Maesters? Only Weapon bearers and Kingsguard chars are eglible, no?
Copper Link
Is this deck effectively dead with the change to the 'attachment' rules?
what change to which attachment rule?
Probably Black Magic Ritual, which used to revive Dragons, and now doesn't.
why not..? can't find it anywhere
scratch that. dragons are no attachments. just figured it out.
Yep, you can't resurrect the Dragons or Belwas anymore. Does that (sadly) kill the deck?
I can't seem to find the faq change that allowed it to happen and now doesn't. Anyone kind enough to post it here?
I use a deck similar to this one and honestly speaking BMR was only slowing me down. 1-2 maesters (Amon is autosave), Balerion and a dany/another dragon with a dupe (use Dragon dance/Desperate Measures (TCC)/Much and More (AHM) to dupe a dragon as soon as You play it) is all You need on a table. No need to use
Blood Magic Ritual (TCC). There are enough tricks to get characters back from a Dead pile or prevent them from dying like saves (Belwas) or with Outwit and Pulled from the Rhoyne (VD). If You know that You will loose Bal and another dragon to Valar, play Pulled from the Rhoyne (VD) before At the Palace of Sorrows (VM). Get Bal, then another card next turn .

There is also Maegi's Promise (QoD) if You need more protection. Or even better. Get Favored by the Warrior (AJE) to dupe killed character.

I can't seem to find the faq change that allowed it to happen and now doesn't. Anyone kind enough to post it here?

It was allowed because of the card text. New errata changes that text:
http://www.fantasyfl...es/AGoT-FAQ.pdf

"(v4.1) Blood Magic Ritual F93
The final sentence of the effect should read:
"If Blood Magic Ritual is discarded or leaves
play, kill that character.""

Yep, you can't resurrect the Dragons or Belwas anymore. Does that (sadly) kill the deck?

True but the deck works as good as before.
Actually, it's more this one:
(3.43) Attachments on Out of Play Entities
When an attachment is specifically attached to an out of play entity (such as a card in Shadows, a plot card, a player's discard pile, etc.), that attachment is considered to be in play and under the command of its controller. It therefore interacts with card text that interacts with attachments in play. The attachment is not considered a part of the out of play entity it is attached to. (For instance, an attachment attached to a card in Shadows is not itself in Shadows.)

So, you can't attach BMR to an out-of-play character that has "No Attachments" anymore.
You attach BMR when a card is back into play. Not out of play. You put a char into play first. Then attach. Before errata it was impossible coz of no attachements. Now thanks to errata that character is killed. BMR is discarded and it kills that char. That is why errata change BMR usage.
This deck looks fun in a nasty way...I love it.
Were Desperate Measures (TCC) very useful?
Is this still a deck after the alterations to blood magic or should it radically change?
Actually, while you're correct that the errata reduces the effectiveness of bmr, it's the "that character" language that's caused the reduced efficacy. It used to say "attached character", which meant that it had no-one to kill if it failed to attach, whereas it now has someone to kill when it is immediately discarded. However, you can still use it on a dragon and then save them from its kill effect with something like Strong Belwas or Favored ny the Warrior

Wait? So you CAN attach to a dragon to 'resurrect' it, then save it when the attachment falls off? I thought you couldn't attach to the character no matter what?
