"... remove it from the game."
Just want to be clear here: this means taking that one card out of the game completely, right? It doesn't invalidate *every* copy of that particular card you or your opponent have in your decks?

This still removes Risen From The Sea after it saves someone, right?
Risen would get attached to the saved character, and not get placed in the discard pile, so the triggering condition for the forced reaction wouldn't occur.
If Risen-the-attachment is discarded from play (confiscated, or attached character leaves play), then it would be removed from the game.
Does this mean event cards that already in the discard pile have to be removed from play or event cards that just been placed into the discard pile will be removed from play?
Events that are already in the discard pile don't get automatically removed from the game when Annals is first revealed. They only get removed if they "enter" the discard pile, so any time you play them (either from the discard pile or from your hand), or if they are discarded from your hand or shadows area in some way.
