I assume when he ambushes in he doesn't join the challenge? He affects the challenge (by removing a character) but doesn't add 5 str to it?
if that card is already in play from marshaling phase ,
then it was chosen during a challenge , will the reaction still persists ?
Thanks
I'm not sure I understand the question.
It doesn't matter when the card chosen for the reaction entered play, only that it is participating in a challenge when Hotah Ambushes in.
If Hotah is in play during the Marshaling phase, there is no way for him to use his reaction in the challenge phase.
Thanks Ktom ,
i now understand the difference of entering play and already in play
The important distinction is the difference between his ability to ambush and his reaction as "entering play during the challenge phase." Ambush his one way to enter play during the challenge phase (which obviously, he can do himself) but his reaction will still go off even if he enters play during a challenge via other means (Arianne Martell, for example).
remove it from the challenge.
I guess you don't stand it after you remove it from the challenge?
Correct, mainly due to the absence of the text "stand that character".
Might be a silly question, but it came up over the weekend and there was a disagreement on what was true. I know the answer in 1.0 but not sure about 2.0
Say they have launched a challenge with one guy, I have yet to announce defenders, I bring in Areo and remove the attacker.
Now does the challenge immediately fizzle (since there are no characters in the challenge), or is the challenge still running and the attacker could do things or if I wanted to I could still bring defenders in if I had a reason too.
I believe 1.0 the challenge immediately fizzled when no characters were in the challenge but I don't know about 2.0
The challenge continues, and the defending player can still declare defenders if they wish. He or she might, for example, have an effect that trigger when winning a challenge on defense, which can only happen if the defender has more ST than the attacker (in this case, more than 0). However, the attacker could still then respond to this with things like Dracarys!.
Thanks
