He's useful to power sacrifices but the "kill" condition makes it scary to use on your guys.
At 5-gold for a 4 STR Military monocon that powers sacrifice effects, I would rather take Jon. Though I suppose the benefit of this is that it lets you banner Night's Watch for that Jon.
Lol, fair enough. And Grey Wind's a great card (I actually like him more than new Jon). I was just thinking in terms of the diversification of the sacrifice mechanic in Wolves of the North.
1. Do both effects (intimidate and challenges action) work at the same time when Grey Wind takes part in a military challenge?
2. Do these effects work also when Grey Wind is a defender?
1. No, either you kneel greywind to attack in military or kneel to use his ability to kill a 1-2 STR character, not both. Also intimidate only works if you win the challenge.
2. No, Intimidate only works when attacking.
You can trigger the action only if Grey Wind is currently standing, so it won't work while he's attacking or defending, unless you've used some other effect to get him standing after entering the challenge.
The Intimidate keyword only works for attackers.
1. By default you have to kneel Grey Wind for him to participate as an attacker. This means you cannot kneel him to initiate the Challenges Action while he is also attacking (unless some other effect allows him to join without kneeling, or allows him to stand before the challenge ends). If you can manage to have Grey Wind standing while participating as an attacker so you can pay the cost (kneeling Grey Wind) of the Challenges Action, then Intimidate and the Challenges Action can work at the same time.
2. Intimidate is only for attacking. The Challenges Action has the same problem and workaround for defending that it has for attacking.
m10frost - Also worth noting(in case you aren't aware) that Intimidate is a keyword, and Keywords(aside from Stealth) are fulfilled at the very end of the resolutions, after claim is applied.
