This card will likely get very strong in the near future once "KIng" versions of other characters start to become available, such as Joffrey, Robb and Stannis.
True since the only 'King' in the core set at the moment is Robert Baratheon, unless you have a mirror match they will be a monocon for most games.
This guy just got a whole lot more powerful with the new cycle announcement. A king for each faction should make these see some play.
I feel like this card’s popularity is really going to follow a bell curve.
Right now it’s kind of sucky. Not terrible but certainly nothing to write home about. But by the end of the next cycle we’ll have seven Kings to choose from in a still relatively shallow cardpool, meaning that chances are going to be pretty good that your opponent will be running at least one of them. But as the cardpool expands beyond that I think you’re going to see a wider and wider variety of competitive decks being run and it’s going to become more and more of a crapshoot whether you’ll see a King.
Still, that 6 STR and Army keyword should keep it from being unplayable for a while even without a King on the board. And it's not Loyal so it can be used in a Targaryen/Baratheon deck with Crown of Gold.
I have a question about description of this card.
While an opponent controls a King character, King's Hunting Party gains an [Intrigue] icon .
Does it have an [Intrigue] icon when any of the opponents have a King character?
Or [Intrigue] icon gains only when declaring a challenge to the opponent who have the King character?
